if he wants a shot at the title

last nights fight was close and it could be an eliminator because mitchell is 3rd and katsidis 4th in wbo ratings

He does want the Katsidis fight, Now Ricky Burns has provided us with a visual instruction manual on how to beat the Aussie I think Mitchell wins the rematch by close decision.

Kevin Mitchell is like a more likeable version of Scott Harrison. The lad has the tools, but lacks the brains to make the most of his career.

The quicker his name is dropped from the equation the better. Would be a good W for the Rickster, but as a Burns fan I want better.

Personally I'd like to see Katsidis retire but if he wants too carry on, it will have to be at 140 and against a relatively soft opponent just to get a measure of the weight and to see if he has still got it? I really don't want to see him ship any more punishment needlessly.

Katsidis might still beat Mitchell. Burns showed a better chin last night than Mitchell might have. I think Mitchell would outbox Katsidis but he could always get caught big and get stopped.

Probably the best fight out there for Michael money-wise if he does want to carry on.

Katsidis is finished, Mitchell would beat him the same way Burns did.

I guess Katsidis can cash a few chips still in the old dart

    Burns provided no such thing.

Not everyone can do what Ricky Burns can do.

agreed. 'Katsidis is finished', 'Mitchell should just do what Burns did'. Total lack of respect for Burns and the improvements he's made. These people saying it are probably the ones who done their bollocks backing the Katsidis KO.

    :good

Katsidis-Mitchell II still goes exactly as Katsidis-Mitchell I.

The big pink hammer gets another nail lodged in his fanny. :deal

If Burns vs Mitchell gets made it will be for the full WBO belt.

I was about to say "that's a bit silly", for Mitchell to get right in line for a world title shot one mere domestic-level win after a KO loss...but then it occurred to me that the man he beat in that one win is also getting a world title shot against Rios straight off a stoppage loss. :patsch

    Doubly farcical.

What should be happening is a Rios-Burns unification, with Katsidis fed Mitchell in a rematch to get himself re-ranked to challenge the winner. :good

I like Murray, but he's got some rebuilding to do before getting any chances.
