Glen Johson isn't a boxer on Ward's level, his footwork/footspeed is well below, he showed no lateral movement and his hand speed is not on an elite level.

oh yeah? well if he was good enough for super 6 semifinal i'd say he is a legit contender.beside,by your logic froch is not a elite either cause he is no bute or ward when it comes to footwork/foot speed or hand speed.heck,he even went to war with the old guy 5 months ago and almost lost.

Bute will be Ward's toughest fight.

Total mis-match against a prime calzaghe!! Calzaghe faster and way, way, way more skilled!!!

Bute is not even a all time top 10 Smw imo and Joe is at least 2nd in many peoples list accompanied by Roy Jones Jnr!!

Give George Groves or James De Gale even a year and they especially Groves with how young he is will be banging on the door of Bute, Ward and Froch!!

Calzaghe had the good idea to retire so his fans can proclaim him for ever. Unfortunately, videos exist. Calzaghe was an excellent boxer but when I hear he was skilled, I can't help myself, I caugh! Calzaghe was not what I call skilled. He was very fast on his feet and with his hands, he had an excellent ring IQ and had other assets but skillness was not one of them. Accuracy and power neither...

Johnson had won at least 3 rounds. Anyway, how many rounds doesn't matter: Froch did struggle against Johnson. That's a fact. He was not comfortable at all for 6 or 7 rounds.

All of those are skills Laffie, just cuz he's unorthodox doesn't mean he lacks skill and if anything its an advantage for him in every style matchup because his opponent has never seen it before. Noting his ring IQ which was 1st rate is very important as his ability to make adjustments and improvise makes him a nightmare.

This is probably the fact, but this is boxing, where skill is just one parameter of a good fighter.
Say what you will about Froch, but the fact is the guy has a tremendous heart. Heart goes a long way in the square circle and although not the most talented, Froch's heart has allowed him to make it to the finals of the S6. Wow, is this me speaking favorably about a white boy. :yep

Now, don't get me wrong, I think Froch had a little help getting to the finals by that bad decision in Nottingham. I had Dirrell winning the fight.
However, I place the blame on Dirrell for not stepping up more in Froch's home town.

If you put Froch's heart along with Direll's talent, you have a talent equivalent to the ATGs like SRL, Hearns, and Hopkins.

    Just my 2 cents.
