Think back to the Grady Brewer fight guys. Brewer had Lara on ***** street at the end of the 4th round, but the bell rang and Lara survived. Unfortunately for Grady he suffered a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder during that same series of punches. He had surgery immediately after that fight. That's why Brewer went 16 months without fighting.

The point is Lara damn near got knocked out by prospect killer Grady Brewer. There may still be questions about Kirkland's chin, but there are definitely questions about every aspect of Lara's game. The fact that he is aesthetically pleasing does not make him a great fighter. I think James Kirkland would just run right over Lara.

Not a good fight for Kirkland IMO. With that said I wouldn't mind seeing it.

I don't understand all this hype surrounding Kirkland now , all he did was to stop an already washed up and shot boxer ( Angulo ) who even droped him in the first round , true it was a good fight to watch but the result was very much as expected ( IMO ) , Lara will **** him if they ever bout , Lara's just too skilled and too slick for Kirkland ( and Angulo , and Canelo and Trout and .... ) Peace .

Kirkland is tough, but Lara is to skilled for him IMO. Williams is a hell of a pressure fighter (even though not as strong as Kirkland), and Lara smacked him around...

Lara would take Kirkland out early, James is a sucker for an uppercut which just happens to be the best punch Lara throws IMO.

The Kirkland that showed up at the Angulo fight would **** Lara's world up something serious.

Kirkland, i wish this guy would learn just a little bit of patience, so he doesnt rush in and get caught like he was against Angulo. If Kirklands clears up his defence, learns to be patiently aggresive, keeps the desire/fire inside him, he will be a tough mofo.

But IMO, hes going to have a short blazing career like the Tysons, Fraizers etc.

I thin Lara is skilled miles beyond Kirkland, but he does not deal well with pressure, and if you can pressure him, you will land, I don't think he can take the shots from Kirkland.

The question with Kirkland, IMHO, is always going to be can he hurt you before you take him out

PW is about as much of a pressure fighter as there is and Lara raped PW. Lara is a very skilll sharp shooter who will make Kirkland pay for being reckless. The only chance Kirkland has is if Lara's punches have utterly no effect even if he catches Kirkland flush, which he will time and time again. Sort of like the Margarito/Coto effect. But the size difference isn't that much IMO.

ughh I don't know.. if Laura stays on the bike and boxes the whole night I think he wins maybe.. His bravado leads me to believe he lays it on the line and trades at some point in the fight, getting hurt way worse than Kirkland.. Kirklands Chin is a bit shakey but getting hit by Angulo then by Lara have to be miles apart.. tough match up to call.. :huh

Yeah they need to capitialize on the Angulo win.. and doing that does not include Lara...

Even match.. like others have said Hi risk, Low reward for Kirkland..

PWill is a pressure fight, but he bring pressure due to volume, where as Kirkland bring pressure with power.

I think it would be a great fight. Not sure if it should be made just yet, but with people losing and being written off maybe it's now or never.

He didn't took **** from neither one, Molina made an ugly fight and didn't land anything clean and almost got ko in the process, and Williams threw like 2000 punches and land like 10% of the shots and nothing clean, we all saw both fights, Lara by decapitation inside 4 rounds...

molina got clocked real good in that fight and Lara was not at his best, imagine what will happen when facing a focused Lara, remember that his trainer was off to Ireland with Rigondeaux and he practically trained himself and got got an infection on one of his tooth a couple of days before the fight.. no daddy cool here.
