Chin - I'd rather have a relatively untested chin. Thats all I have to say on this.

Strength - Any real evidence for this?

Power - Definitely but he doesn't punch any harder than Abraham or Kessler so really we better start digging a bit deeper than power to find the answers for this match up. That in itself isn't going to win him the fight, he doesn't have fight changing power that much is proven.

So then we get onto technically and physically...which is a disaster zone for Carl

Agreed it was loaded, but thats how forums work. I present one POV, you present the other.

So is it fair to say you see Froch controlling the fight behind his jab? Now, to play devils advocate when has Carl fully controlled a fight with his jab except against the statuesque Abraham? Why did he fail to control the fight against Kessler, and if he couldn't do it against Kessler what makes you think he can here when Andre Ward has the skillset to offset his jab by smothering him OR keeping outside it?

Carl's Ryu uppercut? He throws it with venom for sure but does he land it particularly often? If Carl was a Cobra he'd be running out of venom with not much prey to show for it.

I said he's outmatched in nearly all departments, and except for power, chin (which isn't nearly as big of an advantage as it sounds due to reasons I explained above) and perhaps strength (this is arguable) I think its largely true.

I wasn't aware that the Brit forum was broadcasted on television. I say a lot of people on this forum(not ALL) show an awful lot of favourtism towards Froch. And they do, which is inescapable. People make ridiculous posts and then say ''but I'm biased'' at the end of them, this isn't me making an accusation, this is me quoting things people have actually said, discrediting Bute's win over Johnson is the latest one.

And don't give me that ''punch stats'' malarky, supposedly Katsidis landed just short of 200 punches against Burns, let's put our faith in them when we can't make any other valid reasons to the contrary.

So you'd rather have a question mark over your chin then to have a very good one?

Nobody stated Froch is stronger then Ward, even though it is possible.

Froch can have fight changing power on Ward..like you said his chin is untested really.

You said he's outmatched in nearly every department which some would agree on but i just pointed out my opinion on a few key elements for Froch going into this fight.

I put the Kessler loss more down to his preperation than anything else. This is obviously impossible to prove but as you said this is all I have to say on it.

As for fight changing power you obviously missed the Taylor fight.

I wasn't making my point with Punch stats.

I'm signing out of this debate anyway, feel it has gone on long enough. The current debate has zero to do with my original post.

Sure I'd rather have question marks. I'd rather not take a full blooded shot to have to prove my chin. In reality Ward has taken a few shots, from Bika and Abraham particularly, a couple of rights from Kessler and there was no issue. I would still put question marks over it simply for lack of evidence, but is that a bad thing? I'm not sure if you'd really want Carl's chin to be a key element in the fight :think

Carl hasn't had fight changing power against any world class opponent he's faced so I'm willing to take my chances. The only time he's looked like stopping anyone has been as a result of breaking them down methodically. Which is fine, but when we talk about fight changing power it suggests things are going poorly and if thats the case I don't think Froch can suddenly find a miracle punch.

In terms of the whole psychological analysis stuff I think it only matters when one of the guys has a history of psychological weakness. Like at the Haye-Harrison weigh-in you could see signs that Audley was bottling it, and it mattered because he has a history of bottling it. Wlad has a history of bottling it but in the build-up to the Haye fight he seemed totally confident in his abilities, and he got the job done on the night.

Guys like Ward and Froch are psychological brick walls, though. They might try to stir it up a bit but neither is going to be affected on fight night by a few words from the build-up. It's a bit of fun but totally irrelevant to the fight, and I think they both know that of the other.

P.S. Really don't see how Froch can beat SOG.

I have went over this subject time and time again.

    Time and Time again!

I have not got much energy today, and i cannot be bothered explaining why Carl Froch is going to take Andre Ward into the World of the Cobra. I don't think Andre Ward outclasses Carl Froch in every department, the two most crucial departments that will have a great affect on this fight are: Physical Strength, Endurance, Punch Resistance Body & Head, and the Jab.

I am convince Carl Froch has a better more destructive Jab, when he users it. His jab was the reason what totally shut down Jean Pascal in the second half of their war, but like i have just stated before..? I've not got much energy today, so i cannot really be bothered.

Who the **** is discretiting Kessler. The guys an absolute Warriar and one of my favourite fighters./

Do I feel Carl could have beaten him?

    Yes.

    Move on. I am.

Wouldn't normally admit this as you people seem to feed on it but you are getting on my wick. Rather than stripping apart every sentance why not just get the essance of the overall arguemnet (since the original post as this is an entirely new one).

    You feel Ward will win

    I feel Froch will win.

    Great enjoy the fight.

I saw the Taylor fight (surprisingly) :D

Not convinced he found a fight changing punch, I'd say he found fight changing punch(es). He grew into the fight consistently in the latter half. I guess an easier way of saying this is I don't think Carl has a punchers chance in the hypothetical scenario of him being dominated. Or better yet, he's an accumulative puncher.

I doubt it would take a miracle punch to hurt Ward. Froch wobbled Kessler a bit with his right hand, he also hurt Pascal, if he lands that on Ward im pretty sure he'd go over or atleast be shakey..and Froch has proved he has the ability to finish his man when he has them hurt, saying that Ward is elusive and not so easy to hit.

I think alot of people think Ward is going to absolutely dominate and almost embarass Froch. If Abraham a guy who throws virtually no punches can take a few rounds off Ward im sure Froch can get 4 or 5. The only way i see Froch beating Ward is going all out Macklin style and throwing non stop punches body and head and i think he can do it.
