I remember that Floyd paid for some of Genaro's cancer treatments as well. It's a great act but announcing acts of kindness to the world makes people think you have ulterior motives.

My 2 cents to the ***** circle jerk.

    R.I.P. Joe Frazier.

It's nice move by Floyd, but not so nice to tweet about it.

Wasn't that Arum and Top Rank? Didn't know Floyd helped out aswell.

I agree with you though, it should've been kept between him and the Frazier family. Right now it should be abot Joe Frazier, celebrating his life and achievements, not about Floyd Mayweather. It would've come out sooner or later and he'd get his props in due time.

Great gesture though. Props to Floyd

Putting aside your dickish comment at the end...

The way I see it is that Floyd's tweet is more about himself than it is about Joe Frazier and the funeral.

Fair enough, it's his tweet, so he can talk about himself but he's relating his own personal whatever to someone else's, and that's kinda bull****.

The only justification I can see is if Floyd had actually talked to Joe's family and have agreed to pay the funeral expenses, and that they gave him permission to tell the world.

    That is the ONLY reason.

If he has not talked to Joe's family and their plans, or if Joe's family did not give him permission to tell the world about his generosity....well, he's just being a disrespectful twat.

We'll see what the full story is soon enough. I sincerely hope for Floyd's sake that what he did was justified. And I would applaud him for his kindness.

If not, well, yeah, Floyd's a twat.

this forum is riddled with some sad, sad mother****ers.

instead of paying respects to a dead legend, some would rather bicker about trivial **** like this and have a slinging match with other posters

Agreed. When Gennaro Hernandez passed I don't recall him tweeting about paying for that. It was found out that he paid.

Stupid to tweet bout it. I mean, it's nice he is gonna do it, but come on.

Whether or not it was best for him to announce it on twitter right after the news broke is a different debate. Bottom line for me is that he's doing something very kind and generous for the Frazier family and for a late boxing legend. Respect to him.

Imagine someone close to you dies...then a few hours later someone posts on TWITTER they are paying for the funeral.

Most people would feel angry and humiliated.

Tomorrow, I will make a $500 donation to the Red Cross, then annoounce it on my Facebook.

Next week, I'll make a similar donation to UNICEF to help end hunger, but not before I make a Tweet about it.

I'm a nice guy really, but what's the use of doing all these things if nobody knows about it?

    :hey

perhaps a better idea would have been to pay for the funeral and not say a word about it, that's real class!!!

    nice gesture tho
