It's not nice to hear, however as unfortunate as it is, it is an accurate description.

Ipp the reason why everyone was underestimating Ricky is a simple one , no one including yourself could have pointed to any of his previous work and say "Yea that Ricky Burns fighting in THAT fight will beat Mick Katsidis " if you were picking Burns pre fight to prevail it would surly have been a prediction made out if Nationalistist Pride .

I agree to a certain extent but Katsidis has done us proud, Geale is on his way to securing another world ranked fight one hopes and Leapai is slowly fighting his way through the heavyweight scene.

We might be a little country but we have alot of fight left in us yet.

I disagree Razak would be loved down under and would probably be a domestic champ and a inter continental pacific and Asian interim champion by now .

Why would Katsidis want to fight in Australia when very few of his countrymen attend his fights live or buy his PPV in support of him ? No Kats would be a tool to fight back there if I were him I would get a GOOD British trainer and give it one last go here in the UK , could set him and his family up for life , being a journeyman here ain't such a bad thing Eitherand plenty would want his name on their record so the cash would be good .

Btw a lot of people are writing Katsidis off on this board , he needs to start boxing clever and his results will improve . Fight a different fight Mick learn how to adapt during a fight , have plans B,C & D and take a backwards step and have a look from time to time , don't fight blokes who are well known range fighters etc he could still have a tidy career most here have given up on him ,

I think it's safe to say he'll never win a proper world title.

I'm sure he can get a few more pay days but they'll match him with blokes that will eat him alive, he'll be the gatekeeper for the big boys.

BTW - Does anyone actually read One in a million posts?? They are ****'n bizarre and ridiculous :patsch

Agree but he may not be able to get permanent residency with his record.

This we all know but it's up to him to change his style or trainer which he just doesn't seem to do.

More than likely it looks like he will be a gatekeeper until he hangs them up, this I know but it would be great if he could come back to oz and trade blows with a couple of our top aussie boxers. You can't come back here and fight one fight expecting every tom, dick and harry to turn up :verysad

Kel the feeling is mutual, has been for a very long time :good

He is your favorite fighter but Kat's disgusted and ashamed by you, and the Rest of the Aussie boxing fans.

Mel , How can you possibly know he will become a gatekeeper ? No one knows that and who are these top Aussie lightweights you think you have over there that would live with Kats for more than four rounds ? Simply put the reason why Kats don't fight in Australia is a total lack of support , people down under would rather make Mundine and Green rich by buying Their **** PPV 's instead of his fights FACT Is the casual Aussie fight fan don't really know enough about the kid to be bothered buying what he has got to sell .

I saw Burns' title winning effort and was there live for Katsidis' last outing. Mick looks to be on the slide for mine while Burns is on the up. My family might be Scottish, I'm Australian. Always tip with your head, not your heart... Except when Morales or Holyfield fight.

Never said I know he will be a gatekeeper 'fact...how far away is he from receiving a bad head injury, anyway it's his choice on where he fights in the end.

Did you see the fights Ricky fought between winning his first title and fighting Kats ? I did and can understand why he was being under estimated , I will be the first to admit I got it wrong , very few analysed it logically would have delivered a Burns win opinion .
    So you
