    Some people in here found some nice words. Thanks for that. I heard it while watching BBC world news this morning and instantly had tears in my eyes. Rest in peace, Joe.

    Well, at least we had a couple days to brace for it. That and if he wasn't going to beat it, it's better now than later. I've seen the real slow route to a dead end, fellas, and I don't want it for ole Joe. RIP, brother.

    The bit in the FOTC when Ali is saluting the crowd and Frazier marches forwards from his corner, and he's smiling and he nods at Ali and he points at the spot right in front of him. "Right here mother****er." That is just one of the most special moments in boxing to me. He was a special fighter to me. Heart is probably the most special thing in fighting and he's never going to be far away from the top of a list about fighters with great heart. I'm sad.

    RIP probably better he didn't suffer too long (or maybe he was sick for a while). Did he have a drink problem?

    Does anyone know if Joe was left handed?

    My favourite fighter of all time and a good,decent,noble and proud human being.

    We can be a cynical bunch at times but reading all these heartfelt tributes on this forum shows that a wonderful fighter and man like Frazier will always be appreciated and loved by all true fight fans.

    R.I.P Joe and sympathies to his family and all of his friends and fans.

    A very,very sad day.

    I was fortunate to meet him in may in doncaster, my friend text me at 4:30 am to tell me i havent slept the rest of the night and im not ashamed to say it but bawled my eyes out i love that guy its a tragedy. RIP Joe Frazier.

    Very sad news.

    Joe obviously fought during the heavyweight division's golden age, when it still truly meant something to so many fighters and boxing fans and he was one of the greats himself, considering his size- a brilliant fighter and true warrior.

    RIP Champ.

    Our thoughts must be with his family at this time.

    He was a great heavyweight champion, and one of the more decent men outside the ring to have held that distinction.
