What does full-blown MW mean ?

Martinez began at welter, moved up to junior MW and finally to MW for only his last five bouts.

Do they ?

Bernard Hopkins was a 'full-blown' MW, as you put it. Started out at Light heavy (175) and then moved down to 160 before finishing off at 175 again.

When he was at 160, he was calling out welterwts (specifically, Tito and Oscar)

As already mentioned, he has stepped up. Twice.

If its ok for an ATG MW/LHW like BHop to call out WWs, can there be much harm in a WW/JnrMW/MW like Martinez doing the same thing ?

 

Did BHop's ranking drop when he disposed of Tito ?

Sergio Martinez called out the fighter who picked up his WBC LMW belt after he vacated. He wants to fight that guy, calling himself a legitimate 8 division champion, to fight him at LMW. So there you have it - stop calling yourself an 8 division champion and people won't call your bluff. If no Floyd and Pac, Sergio is happy to face much bigger guys such as Pavlik and Barker, but as far as greatness goes, Pirog or Sturm won't make him P4P#1, Pacquiao and Floyd will. And he's happy to face both former WBC Light Middleweight champions.

 

He's not 'happy' to fight anyone less than two weight divisions below him and he's made that very clear. Are you the last one to understand this?

sergio has had 4 middleweight fights... pac and floyd were brave enough to get belts at 154 pounds ......but suddenly hes picking on little guys? he destroyed paul williams and kelly pavlik...hes proven that even though hes no legit middle he can beat up legit middles...
everyone jumps on sergio but gives sturm a pass for fighting bums for almost 10 years now defending his trinket title
