This post is pish,i was speaking to a member of our team who was trying to give ricky advice! i have know the house second for years and hes a lovely guy who i'd never speak to in anything other than a nice manner

 

Fantastic performance by Burns. I wondered whether Burns was going to be a one hit wonder who wouldn't live up to the Martinez fight but he's shown me he's a legitimate world class fighter. I was impressed by his defence.

 

Don't even rise to it Billy - your guy won, and looked great doing so, which kind of suggests that you did your job well that night, so it's a terrible thread. The more you rise to it the more (some) people will bait you.

 

Though Martinez wasn't the no.1 in the division when he fought Burns some of the comments made to disprove this in the Brit Forum in the past have been ridiculous. BoxingAnalyst said the other day he was only just inside his top 10 prior to the Burns fight which I found very odd considering the lack of top quality fighters in the division.

He didn't give me his list when asked though so I assume he was just making it up to discredit Burns' win somehow.

Hilarious! Actually I think it's pretty sad that he has felt the need to come on here and justify his profession and his fighters on so many occasions, and has got involved in so many slanging matches, I am not a particular fan of his, although I am a fan of Ricky Burns - I was just expressing an opinion. None of us should feel the need to justify our professional choices to others outside our immediate circle, imho.

Billy can talk for himself, he doesn't rise to anyone, i've seen him troll back at the trolls so no need to kis his ass.

 

I'm fairly new, and apart from the playground stuff from you and Will in the Ward/Froch thread, I can't remember reading any bad posts by you amigo :good

 

If that was aimed at me, I'd have to disagree - much of what he posts derives from rising to others goading him, imho. And I'm not kissing his 'ass' - indeed, as I said, I'm not much of a fan of most of what he writes on here - I was simply trying to make the point that his engaging with the critics on here in that way is not a good use of energy... I am conscious that I am guilty of that myself right now, but then I am not basking in the glow of having had my fighter prove the majority wrong at the weekend.

I just think it is a little sad that he feels the need to troll at trolls when this is his career, whereas for the vast majority of posters on here it is simply a hobby, and one in which many fans are, in any case, immovable from their view.

Anyway, apologies for responding, just didn't feel I had kissed anything so wanted to address that.
