I still like Ringside, it is a different show but on the whole I think it is excellent. I just prefer Bunce Boxing Hour.
Bunce is brilliant, it's nice to have a bit of humour in between fights. The Boxing Hour is the best show on T.V. IMO.
Richie puts some hours in. I'm sure he was live on 2 different channels last weekend. Buncey isn't perfect but then which TV presenter is? But then who you gonna replace him with? There isn't another presenter in the country who could do what Buncey does. Yeah he can get a bit over excited but that's just the way the man is. I like him. He even made me laugh a couple of times on this weeks boxing hour.
There's no one in boxing broadcasting who can do the job Bunce does. Depends if you want that job doing, mind. Incredibly enthusiastic. The cleverest thing he's done is managing to convince people he 'tells it like it is'.
Why dont we just get Jamie Redknapp to do the analysis for every sport and be done with it...Sound like you want the usual boring, monotonous bull**** that comes from 99% of UK sports commentators or analysists...
It all depends what you prefer .. If you prefer Adam Smith and Johnny Nelson trying to share reading a autocue and failing badly .. ( why on earth do you need 2 people to read an autocue ? ) .. then Bunce is probably not for you .. If you want someone whos probably never even used an autocue and shoots from the hip ... then Bunce is your choice. Sure .. he can waffle on at times and does his best to take over just about every show hes on ...:yep Bu thats fine ... especially after watching Ringside for 20 minutes ..
Bunce is the man, stop your wineing and go and watch ringside if you don't like him. Bunce = 1 man protector/saviour of British Boxing. As for Woodhall, I really like his views on the technical side. Liked his comments about Groves right hook. He is right how often do you see that shot thrown like that?
I found Bunce irritating at first back on Setanta. And then I criticised him on here and he sent me a message and he was so genuine and clear that I realised I had mistaken the packaging for the product. He's a good thing in British boxing. While BN was doing a half-assed job of pestering the Beed, Bunce was getting all sorts of fights on Setanta. When everyone else was saying it was over for the sport, Bunce got a radio show on the Beeb. Like him or not, he puts heart and soul into the sport. He loves the game and he loves the people in the game. In an age when too many cynically try to run down others for their own gain, Bunce is a true believer.
so basically you thought he was a *****, but then he sent you a message and he became a top man:huh Hes essentially in a tough position - employed on box nation so unable to give an honest opinion of their fighters - the Chisora interview, you can bet if that was an american who hadnt been in the studio he would have been calling for him to be hung drawn and quartered for the condition he entered the fury fight in
Can go over the top and talk crap sometimes but I like him (no homo). There is no doubting his passion for the sport!
