No one "needs" to retire persay. At this point they're getting money the best way they know how and it's hard to admit that you can't do what your life has been centered around for years anymore. Seeing the younger guys fight I know that brings more desire in the veterans that continue to tarnish their image(An exception is Audley Harrison, he had no image/legacy to tarnish). I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be happy if Hops,RJJ,Toney,Holy,Morales,Barrera, etc. did retire but it's hard to turn away from something you've been passionate about since you were a kid but at this point I think the passion for the sport in them is replaced by getting money to live more sustainable.
jermain taylor should stay out. he achieved enough and he's sounding shaky...also I think paul williams has a few more fights left in him but he's on the cusp. lara and martinez 2? a prolonged ass whipping and a shotgun to the head knockout.
Horrible. I remember people calling Judah a "Whitaker with power". People need to stop with these disgraceful comparisons.
Right now pretty much anyone over 40 thats not named Vitali, Tarver or Hopkins. Special shoutout to Toney and Holyfield and RJJ, as amazing as you guys were in your prime its getting increasingly more heartbreaking to see any of you in the ring. Toney especially i know he was never a clear speaker and the injury probably made him look more shot than he actually is but hes sounding punchy. The guy is a legend and i want him to grow old happy and with most of his marbles intact so thanks for the great memories but for the love of god retire. RJJ for all his knockout losses does not sound nearly as bad as Toney.
