Jk is a puncher we all can agree on that but hes not your typical one where he finds his range and resets and reloads. Because he has great stamina and strength he keeps coming at you and fights more like a pressure fighter but one with a punch. If Lara can keep him at range Lara does have enough power to keep Jk humble if not worse. I think Jk is getting alittle too much praise and don't think hes ready for Lara. Id have to give the edge to Lara. He won't be making the same amaturish mistake Angulo did punching himself out. Jk just leaves himself to wide open. Should be a good fight hope it happens.

If you want to b selective that's u right, but I brought the 4th for everyone to watch, that's all... brewer would had done $hit even with 3 arms and he got caught in the same 4th round too, by the way he was throwing bombs after that round and the only thing that make him stop was what was coming back to him, the RC wasn't troubling that much for what we all saw that night, Lara did! Listen we know that you don't like Cubans fighters you never had any praise for them, and if you do I haven't read it just yet....

I suspect Lara would tear Kirkland to shreds. Kirkland is too straightforward to do to Lara what he did to Angulo, and Lara would just pick his shots while backing up. I doubt this fight gets made for that reason - they'll want to milk him a little while longer before throwing him to the lions. And when they do throw him to the lions, it will probably be to Canelo.

I think the way Anne Wolf is, they would want him to fight Lara, if he can't deal with Lara's ability to box he won't be able to deal with Canelo.

    Hopefully they get it done.

I do think that if Kirkland continues to improve defensively this would be a tough fight both ways.

Didn't say it wasn't. But Canelo is a good boxer with more power than Lara, IMO. So if he can deal with the superior boxer but less powerful Lara, I believe he will be able to deal with Canelo.

Yeah, but Canelo's a LOT more likely to get drawn into a brawl than Lara, and Canelo has a weaker chin.

There's NO upside for Kirkland fighting Lara. He wouldn't make much money for that fight compared to a fight against bigger names. If he wins, then other boxers will start avoiding him. If he loses, then he got beaten again by another guy who's not a big puncher and goes back to square one.

No way in hell this fight happens. GBP knows that Kirkland is the draw in this matchup, and you can't have the draw come in as the underdog if there are other good fights that can be made.

I think Kirkland's fight against Angulo was his last fight for GBP they were cashing him out for Angulo. I think Shaw is trying to get him back.

I know the fight in a business-sense is bad, but as a fan a a person who likes seeing fighter fight the best, I want to see it happen. I want to see if Kirkland can adapt and prove that when he gets a title he is a real champion, not just a belt holder.

As for Lara not willing to engage, I agree he doesn't, but the skill that Kirkland has is that he can force an engagement with his pressure. Like I said, looking at Lara's fights, he isn't great at controlling distance and I personally I think his chin is just as susceptible as Canelo's.

The Lara that beat the **** out of Paul Williams would KO Kirkland.

Kirkland's contract is up with GB? I know they've cashed guys like him out before just so they could end the contract early, but I would've thought we'd hear alot more on this.

Knowing Ken Hershman, I wouldn't be suprised if HBO doesn't match Martinez up with James in March. If James loses, he can move back down to JMW a bigger star for Canelo.
