No dream fight, 24/7, or heavyweight superstar will help boxing, what it needs new management/promotional team at the top. Of all the suggestions made about what will help boxing, this one seems to get over looked the most. The top boxing promoters have been running the sport for 5 decades now. They don't have the best interest of sport in mind when making fights and they are behind the times in how they promote fights. They are only out to make a quick buck or two off of a fight or fighter. Arum is a prime example but the list furthers when you look at King, Shaw, and Dibella.. GBP, is a good young organization who seems like they could make changes, but they haven't done much to better the sport as far as televison coverage on major networks or stacking their cards, they've made it's fair share of mistakes in the past too.. I know boxing isn't an easy business to get into.. but promoters need to think of the sport insted of their own checkbook when making week cards or bad matchups. It's sad that nobody has enough power to take Arum out of his spot in boxing.. so hopefully he will die soon. :plzdie and we get fresh, smart promoters in the sport.

Without promoters like Arum giving a **** about the sport enough to invest in it, where would it be?

No what's worse then me is that Arum doesn't and never wanted to make the fight with Mayweather happen... He says it would be an 'easy' fight for Manny.. please.... Arum called Floyd the greatest when he was promoting him LOL shows you how much things change when you can't promote the cash cow in the sport. He puts Manny in more mismatches then I've ever seen.. You obviously are a ******* so is your opinion biased yes, valid?? no

So your saying that Bob Arum is the only one who can invest in the sport and make smart decisions for it?? LOL millions of millionairs right now who love the sport of boxing could put tons of money into it and do 5,000 times better then bob did. It's all about luck of the draw, how long he has been in it, and the people he knows.. That's the only reason Bob is where he is today..... And when you say giving a **** about the sport enough to invest in it, well let me just say that he invests in the sport so he can get a bunch of money back and put it in his fat greedy pockets.. Manny Marquez 3 isn't good for the sport neither was Manny vs Mosley neither is washed up marg vs washed up cotto.. LOL Arum must think his fighters are ageless or something or he feels for them when he sees them get beat up so he puts them in big fights, OR he's trying to cash a check on them

Fighters are all greedy. Not all promoters can control whichever the freak their fighters want to fight. The fighters have to sign the dotted line. If that was the case, Golden Boy would be rich right now.

Promoters might be messed up, but THEY are the ones who grab people from the middle of nowhere, have them trained, even not make money out of them for long periods of time, hoping that ONE DAY, they'd pay off dividends.

The promoters you should hate are guys that act like they're promoters but never promote a lick for their fighters at all and just grab HBO money and get rich off it (Yes, talking bout that Shaw dude. grab money, don't promote ol' Timmy, get crap crowds).

Arum, Dibella, King and even lately, DLH, have been doing this, grabbing people from nowhere and raising them into actual stars.

Boxing is a freaking business. You're not going to like everything about it just like lawmaking. It's cutthroat ever since long ago even from the Golden Age. The only problem with it today is that HBO effectively cornered the market off from terrestrial TV and there are fighters nowaday who can stall into signing contracts hoping to fight THE BIG ONE.

Outside of freaking Marquez, nobody else really shines. One guy don't want to fight. One guy's too big. One guy is his friend from a lower weight class. Everybody else at 140-147 are PPV nobodies with no history and no real PPV pay-out AND Pacquiao's still going to be favored on.

It's time to find a promoter who is better suited to the Hardcore, and knowlageable boxing audience rather then then Casual one who have no idea what they are talking about. Boxing will grow and people will start watching and paying for it again once you fix it... right now they are trying to use up name after name after name until all of them are gone and they can no longer advertise to the casual audience because the casual audience only knows older fighters. comon

Hardcore fans won't get the buyrate to go up beyond 1 mil. Boxing will only grow when you get the casuals attracted. But the system is so messed up (17 weight classes with at least 4 champs and 7 at most) that the job is easier to talk about fixing than it is to do it.

The hardcore will always be there. You get new hardcores from the casuals. Boxing yourself in with a dwindling core is only good for the short-term. It is never good for the long-term. And for long-term change, what needs to be changed is the boxing system. Too many classes and champions for people to memorize.

Once you fix that, you fix everything else.

Besides, again, FIGHTERS are the ones who sign on the dotted lines. Promoters are just easy scapegoats but the final say always goes to the boxer themselves. They can choose to not fight a crappy fight if they don't want it.

How was boxing better back in the day then??? They stacked the cards and made stars out of young, hungry, exciting fighters.. this is something that isn't done in boxing anymore as older, broken down fighters get sold to the public as still a viable threat to the star of the division(minus the supermiddleweights) Boxing still had the titles it has today yesterday bro, don't get that twisted. Champions can be stipped... for peats sake we all will know who the real champ is once everyone starts facing each other just like Berto and ortiz.

Where are they? We have the mega rich buying football, baseball, basketball, soccer teams all over the place. There's alot of money to be made in boxing... so where are they in boxing? If a dope like De La Hoya could do it, anyone with any business savvy can. None of these rich ****s give enough of a **** about boxing to put money it, that's why.
