I would say Bute has a better defence rather than a better chin than Froch. Froch takes a lot of unnecessary shots.

Froch's level of opposition has also been much higher than Bute's.

And Zuniga is a good puncher too. At 168 i'd say he has as much power as Andrade if not more. He dropped and hurt Pavlik and was durable enough to last 12 vs Cloud at LHW after Bute.

 

ah but look at his recent opposition, very good fighters with very good chins who are rarely/never stopped.

 

Bute wont KO Froch

 

Ward will probably win the fight if he keeps it long because technically he is superior to Froch, but Froch is NOT the kind of guy you try and bully and impose your will on. If Ward gets up close, gets messy and starts swinging wildly like he did against Green and Bika, he will be put on his arse. I guarantee you that. Imposing your will is not the way to go with Froch because mentally he is as tough if not tougher than Ward. A disciplined gameplan will beat him.

 

O absolutely, no arguments there. But the guy makes himself out to be some kind of huge one-punch KO artist. Not a single knockdown in his favour in his last 6 fights doesn't support that, no matter how tough his opposition is.

And by the way, for all the talk about how Ward is not a puncher, people (and certainly Froch) conveniently ignore the fact that Ward has been facing the same kind of tough, iron-chinned opposition in the last 2 years, apart from Allan Green how went into a shell and fought to survive.

 

I would say the exact opposite. Damn, they have to fight! We want to know who's right.

 

It's not so much that Froch's power isn't real and i do think that he can hurt anyone at world level with 1 clean shot. But you don't get the opportunities to catch elite level fighters cleanly as much as you would with domestic level fighters. Look at the punch Froch caught Kessler with in the 5th round that buckled Kessler badly, but in typical Froch mode he stands back and admires his work instead of going after him. His power is real though and he can hurt Ward with 1 shot.
