Was just about to comment on that. I would have said "Do you mean delusional James? Because disillusioned means I've lost my beliefs and feel saddened by reality. That might be a better adjective for someone who lost their biggest fight to date, don't you think?"

He is always hyper critical though. Remember in an interview when Haye retired when he said "I can be his friend now, not his trainer. As I trainer I can never be happy with him, always have to find faults to keep his feet on the ground."

He's doing exactly the same here. Booth is clearly a very intelligent trainer.

It wasn't a controversial decision: it was a really close fight and Groves won. I also believe if DeGale had stepped it up, as so many seem to think was all he had to do, he'd have lost even more clearly. His lack of activity actually made it harder for Groves to execute his backfoot strategy. But he still did it. Because he's better.

what shone through was that the ****** booth thing is such an uncomfortable marriage of convenience .
groves just seems to grow in confidence and maturity whilst degale just seems to go the opposite way

Only idiots (as in, you) could even claim DeGale was up by two in that fight. The two are very evenly matched as fighters.

dftaylor I don't always agree with you but that is not because you don't know your stuff like some of the seasoned posters you clearly do. You are 100% spot on here. I would go further and predict that when Groves and DeGale fight next time the Saint will stop DeGale. Groves is better and has more ways to beat DeGale who from what I have seen is a one trick pony. He does not seem to be getting any better. Groves is fighting against and sparring a better class of fighter than DeGale as a result he is developing into a good all round fighter. More important Groves is humble enough to know that he is not yet the finished article whereas DeGale think he is ready to be world champion in 2012. Who exactly of the top elite guys can DeGale beat in 2011? Frcoch, Ward, Dirrell, Abrahams, Kessler, Johnson etc. Groves is preparing himself to be ready for the elite level.

Degale is an idiot and needs to learn to shut up. He's got no chance of winning a world title at smw.

Have always thought this to. Groves and Booth must be loving the fact that all DeGale thinks he needs to do to win the fight is throw a few more punches and walk forward more.

The biggest difference between Groves and DeGale is IQ. Inside and outside the ring Groves is a smart guy and DeGale is dumb as ****.

Unless DeGale makes some serious alterations when they do meet again Groves will win a clear decision or even a stoppage.

DeGale is talking about world title next year in the best division in Boxing. How you gonna win a world title when Kessler, Ward, Froch and Bute are the champions. Honestly I just think Fwank is cashing out on DeGale.

Groves team are looking at him still developing next year. 5 fights 10-12 rounders agaisnt a different variety of opponents. Then in 2013 push for a world title when the elite have retired of moved up.

I think Degale's biggest problem is he is haunted by the fact he is a closet homo, he gives groves stick when really he wants stick it in his chocolate party ring.

Rob, I don’t think DeGale’s a big ticket seller and he’s even worse since the loss and his crap behaviour. It’s fine when it’s Chris Eubank beating everyone in front of him and passing his first serious test in Benn. Not when you make a whole load of boasts and lose a decision to your biggest rival after acting a complete ****.

James’ belts are of the paper variety. At this stage in his career, the only way he picks up a legitimate world title belt is if one of the champs vacates. I think Fwank will be hoping post-S6 that Ward or Froch drops a belt to fight Bute. That will be in a year or so, and would fit right in with FW’s plans.

Chances are it will be Ward and Bute at the top of the tree at that time, whatever happens. No way DeGale is going near those guys – he’d be humiliated.
