Veeraphol Sahaprom Vs Choi Tseveenpurev w/footage

Choi, just 2 fights into his career (with late round stoppages in ten rounders against Oriental opposition with winning records) is, as he has been through most of his career, thrown in at the deep end, against former WBA Bantamweight champion (18-1) Veeraphol Sahaprom, who would go on to claim the WBC title after this and be a long-reigning titlist.

Shockingly, Choi is not as crude as you might imagine here. In fact, from the complete rounds we have (only partial footage of the 9th and 10th, appears to be a problem with the Thai broadcast rather than the DVD, see for yourself) I had it 4-4, with Choi doing some good work, arguably being denied a knockdown in the 3rd and rocking the quality Thai in the 6th with a short left that has him drawing on his Muay Thai instincts to survive!!!!

Considering the opponent, the best that Choi has faced in his career, this is a good showing from 'The Mongolian Warrior', who also looked big and strong at the 118lb limit.

When you first promised this I was excited.

Since then it's been on ITV 4 three times.

 

You have to wonder what would have happned if Manny Pacquiao moved to Oldham and Choi went to the Wildcard.

 

Tell me you didnt just say that.

 

Pacquiao would always be street's ahead of Choi anyways, talent wise.

by no means am I saying that Choi would have been in Pacquiao's position and Manny would be fighting in Prizefighter.....but you would have to imagine Choi would have done allot more in his career.

 

How about 'if he had the opportunities'; nothing to do with Wild Card.

 

If Choi had been at the wildcard trainign with Roach and sparring world class fighters every day he would have won a world title. You disagree with that?
