Pacquiao is not only much greater than Marquez, but a much better fighter too.

Pac has done things few think JMM could do, but I have problems saying a fighter with more accomplishments that hasn't in my eyes been able to beat another (like Morales-Barrera).

You could also argue that P4P, Marquez has been taking many more risks fighting prime top-ranked lightweights (a division he's still small for) while Pacquiao has been getting his welterweight victims at low points in their careers (Cotto is really the only outlier here.)

I still rank Pacquiao much higher because of all he's done in his career, but to say he's just the all-encompassing better fighter doesn't match up with what we know has happened in that ring. JMM can't be left off the list.

Delusional.....if he was a greater fighter he'd have clearly beaten marquez at least once out of two fights.......i like the anology one guy used like comparing Jones to Hopkins....technically Marquez is a better fighter.....Manny is the better athlete and makes up for technical flaws with sheer desire speed power and stamina.....apples and oranges....either way to me neither guy should be rated much higher than the other......Manny's past 140 wins over Mosley and ODLH didnt add anything to his legacy just big names on his ledger....Cotto and Margarito took alot out of each other before they fought Manny, nobodies the same after fights like that and considering Manny lost to a past prime Morales he shouldnt be considered much greater, people completely forget he lost the first fight to Morales when Morales was coming off a grueling 3 fight series with Barrera, and some other tough fights and erratic showings.

after their long careers and their three fight series against each other they were not the same before fighting Manny...all their fights were grueling both had other wars and neither were in their compelete prime....Manny fought both 2003 or later while both were primed in the late 90's til around 2001

You cannot be serious... You're calling someone else delusional too. Wicked ironic-like.

The fact remains that a prime Marquez fought a very rough and unpolished Pacquiao and then rematched a slightly more refined, but still rough Pacquiao, and was taken to deep waters and was dropped 4X in 2 very close fights. If the skills difference was THAT GREAT, Marquez should have beaten Pac decisively in one of their two contests, which isn't the case. Also, Marquez has landed numerous flush, punishing shots on Pac and has never been able to truly hurt, wobble, or put down Pac.

Considering a rough and wild Pac gave a prime Marquez fits, I'd say Pac's the better fighter.

    I don't understand what you're on about.

I'm the one comparing the two fighters in reality, while you're making some bizarre, impossible, illogical, irrational point about completely changing some fighter's actual abilities. I'm dealing in reality, you're dealing with an untenable fantasy that doesn't make any sense.

How can a fighter be clearly greater than someone that havent even beat convincingly....also considering Marquez has been fighting fighters in their prime outside of Casamayor for the title means more than beating old(Mosley, ODLH) OR DAMAGED(Cotto, Margarito) bigger fighters..........When was the last time Manny fought someone who didnt get knocked out or dominated in a fight or two prior to fighting them.....o yea...when he fought Marquez

he is a nightmare for Manny but considering he is a three-weight champ and has beaten numerous world champs he shouldnt be considered to far behind Manny

Lol, ok. Me trying to illustrate the point that JMM is a superior technician, is indeed an irrational point that has no place in your thread that's entitled 'Pacquiao is not only much greater than Marquez, but a much better fighter too.'

If Pac had no power and speed, and my auntie had bollocks, she'd me be uncle. :good

You make a fantasy point which merely repeats something I already said in real terms in my opening post. What a contribution! :nut
