This fight does not make a lot of sense to me.

Wlad should fight guys that have some name recognition.

That obviously is not true. Why would Wlad waste his time with Gomez, who isn't even ranked in the 10.

Because Briggs is both one of the most boring and inactive heavyweights in boxing?

I doubt he will fight Gomez. I cannot see HBO giving their ok to this fight, due to outside of Cuba and Germany noone knows Gomez. But nevertheless Gomez would be a tough nut and more comepetetive than Briggs or Rahman.

that would have been a very interesting fight given Gomez' slick style and speed, but i doubt it will happen. Klitschko's got bigger fish to fry. Besides, Gomez is a cruiserweight in all fairness.

Wlad could get a good KO over a name opponent like Ruiz, Rahman or Briggs at the garden, to warm him up for a unification fight.

Gomez is a really good fighter, although not much of a puncher. His loss to Diaz hurt his career, but if you ignore that, he is one of the most talented HW's today.

However, i'm not convinced he can come into a fight in shape. He needs a tuneup before Wlad.

Plus Wlad should fight the Chagaev-Ibragimov winner.

although gomez is not the biggest names in boxing he is very skilled, maybe more skilled than ihe ibf champion but he has to train properly and should have a tue-up before. that fight would make more sense when held in germany.

I like Gomez but I doubt this fight is coming off. I dont see what Wladimir would have to gain from this fight.

Yes, Lamont Zero, we already got your point. Everyone is more skilled than Wlad. He's just big.

One of the most awful risk/reward ratio fights Wlad could actually find in the heavy division. Good thing for him it won't happen.

And Gomez' power is underrated at heavy.
