Pacquiao is not only much greater than Marquez, but a much better fighter too.

Here's the best example. By his logic, Buster Douglas is greater than Mike Tyson. :patsch

You can make the argument that Pac is the better fighter but "much greater" "much better"...........................hell no.

which is exactly why I do not get why people think Marquez is ATG. If you eliminate the Pac fights, where is the support for him being an ATG? 3 time champ is great, but that is more HOF.. A head to head matchup with ATG fighters is what makes guys ATG. When you think about Marquez can you see him really do well against other ATG fighters? You know Pacman or Leonard would.

I think he is much greater. Resume and wins and dominance. Marquez cannot compare.

Remind me again how many prime ATG's PAC beat that would place him so much higher over JMM. By most accounts JMM beat Pac twice which means he has at least two head to head wins over an ATG.

Most of the wins that have convinced some people that Pac is so much greater( Hatton, COtto, Margarito) are over borderline(at best) HOF fighters.

Yes much greater. Yes much better.

Pac has a much better resume - not close.

Pac has much better achievements (weight-jumping, time as p4p#1) - not close.

Pac's performances have been much more dominant in his prime - not close.

Pac did much better vs their common opponent MA Barrera - not close.

I don't even need to add that Pac went 1-0-1 vs Marquez, I have already shown that yes much greater and yes much better.

IMO Marquez is a great fight but not at the same level as Pac. JMM is a great like Oscar is a great.

I don't think this victory will be more worthless/pointless than Mayweather-Marquez because (a) Pac will not cheat the catchweight, (b) Pac and Marquez are much closer in natural size, fighting weight, height and reach than Mayweather and Marquez, (c) it's patently obvious to any neutral that the experience of making 142 once before has helped Marquez to do so better now - he looked flabby vs Floyd, anyone with eyes could see that. He has hired a sports scientist now and looks much better, as verified by him, his nutritionist, his trainer, and everyone around him who has been asked.

However, I agree with you that (a) this fight is much less important than the first two, (b) will not be one of Pac's best wins by any means, and (c) will simply not be a great win at all, no matter how it is achieved, though I'd still be pleased and impressed if Pac managed to stop him whereas Floyd couldn't.

Nah. JMM's resume and achievements don't come close to matching Oscar's.

The rankings you're talking about would go:

    Pac-RJJ-Floyd-BHop

    Oscar-Lennox-Morales-MAB

    Tito-Marquez-Shane-Winky

    IMO.

Superb counter-argument. Really took my post to pieces with your reasoning and evidence. A gold star for you.

    Here is a question!!!

If Marquez won the fights, would he actually follow Pac's path of opposition? Would he go up against Clottey, Hoya, Cotto, Margarito, Mosley?

Because there was an interview where JMM stated that if he got the nod from the judges, then he could be somewhat where Pac is right now.

I can write a two page post with good counter arguments but we all know that would be futile. You've already made up your mind!

You have your biased opinion I have mine:deal
