I'm a huge Bute fan and I see him having the upper hand on everyone in the division. However for ONCE, I tend to agree with The President in the way that Dirrell is the ONLY wrong match up I see for Bute as far as fighting style.

I feel that Dirrell would have beat Ward if they fought. The match will be made in the future I'm sure.

    I disagree.
Ward is the most dedicated and focused. The style he deploys is Bernard Hopkins. He is defense oriented with enough offense to keep his opponent honest and score points.
Due to his natural ability, Dirrell has many more boxing options than Ward.
He has a style. He is a boxer, so his style is to stick and move. He likes to hit while not being hit.
Unlike Ward, he does not like infighting preferring to use his jab and use lateral movement to keep his opponent at distance and use angles to create scoring opportunities.
While Ward is more skilled and focused than Dirrell, Direll has more speed, talent and natural ability.
Too bad Dirrell got side tracked by his fight with AA.
A Ward-Dirrell match up would have been much more entertaining than Ward-Froch.

This is because Bute has so far, been able to outbox his opponents.
I don't believe that Bute can outbox Dirrell anymore than Froch could.
Once he realized that, Bute might resort to being the brawler and would either win by KO/TKO, or lose by decision.
But the thing is, Dirrell can box, but he has some pop also. In his last 8 fights hes won 5 by TKO/KO.

It would be great to see Bute in with someone like Dirrell who can actually tie off on Bute and test his chin.

Dirrell has a pretty good chin also. I didn't see Froch hurt him in their match. That's because Froch got outboxed by Dirrell and Froch is no accustomed in being the brawler.

Bute would control the center of the ring with Dirrell, Lucian is very good at pushing guys in the corner or the ropes of the ring, look at Miranda, Johnson, Zuniga. I think if Bute sees, after 5-6 rounds that he can't win rounds against an opponent he'll become more aggressive, and with his head and body movement, Andre won't have a stationary target, he won't hit as much as he'll wish and more important he might be reluctant to unleash the big punches being scared by the excellent counters that Bute execute. At time Dirrell will end up with his back on the ropes or in the corner and Bute will sit on his punches. I do think it would be close. And I don't think Bute would lose the first 5-6 rounds. Bute's style and technique are really appreciated by the experts by referees(Taylor like)

Stieglitz is a better fighter now than he was when he fought Andrade.

Being higher in rankings doesn't automatically makes you better fighter. Johnson had 3 fights in recent time at SMW, he fought the #2 and #3 of the division both world champions, been competitive in one and didn't got Ko'ed. I highly doubt that Stieglitz could do the same and I think Johnson is better fighter H2H. Stieglitz had more fights at SMW and a belt that helps his rankings being higher.

Johnson beats Stieglitz, at 168 if they fight right now.

Probably true. I was just pouting out that Stieglitz has improved since 2008.

The conversion is 1 GBP = 1.6 CAD. I don't know how seats Froch put at his best. Does Anyone?

    Not really.

It's been a while since Froch last fought at home (Dirrell) in front of a packed house. Perhaps 10K? I am sure Froch could fill the local stadium fighting a top guy. There where talks about Froch fighting Kessler there before they settled for Denmark.

So my guess would be that he could draw 20K-25K against a top guy. Some brit might correct me.

I highly doubt Froch draws more than 15k
