Haskins is upto 6th in the WBC rankings. It looks like his management want to push him towards a WBC title shot sometime in the future. How do you think he fairs against any of the higher ranked fighters?? CHAMPION: SURIYAN POR CHOKCHAI (THAILAND) 1: Sylvester Lopez (Phil) SILVER 2: Carlos Cuadras (Mexico) AMERICA 3: Tomas Rojas (Mexico) 4: Yota Sato (Japan) 5: Oleydong Sithsanerchai (Thai) INTL 6: Lee Haskins (GB) Would a shop worn Rojas be a good fight to put him closer to the title, or would he be a step too far for Lee at this point??
I'd like to see him get past that new kid Paul butler at ARNIES I see him getting beat by that kid keep your eye out for him he is the next big flyweight and I think he is the best in Europe right now in 9 months I reckon he will hold titles and he will wipe up the division
Hes been in alot of tough fights, and I dont think he is a sharp as he used to be. Hence shop worn. Im pretty sure the pressure he used to apply was more intense going back a few years. Im not saying hes shot, just slowed slightly.
^^^Did you watch the Rungvisai fight? He tried to box early on and was getting handled, the pressure he applied in the second half of the fight was some of the best I've ever seen him apply in my years watching him. He almost swept every single one of the last six rounds, hardly "slowed down" as you put it, he was high octane and laid a sufficient but too late beating on a quality, quality fighter. On top of that, he was on the best form of his career going into the fight, having out-boxed Nashiro, doing the complete opposite to what you say he does and nullifying his opponent's pressure rather than applying his own. Same goes for most of his successful title fights, wherein he utilised his jab and movement to outbox guys like Montes and Kono, while putting a beating on them at the same time. How he's gone from the best form of his career to "shopworn" despite not one single fight suggesting as such baffles me, he was doing so well that when a potential Mijares fight was mooted some even picked him to win that fight, now he's shopworn and a good stepping stone for Lee Haskins? Don't know where you're coming from bro, if Haskins WERE to beat him he'd automatically be a top fighter in the division, never mind merely being a "step closer" to a title shot. That's because Rojas for all we know is the exact same fighter he has been of late, which is a damn good one, everything else is mere speculation, not fact.
Seeing as you purposefully ignored what my point was, no. We aren't in agreement, unless you've understood that he's not shopworn, because that's the point I was putting across, as you know but chose to act unaware of.
Can somebody explain to this guy that I didn't say that please? Because, as someone who's actually watched guys he professes to know about, I'm chasing a lost cause here.
