Ricky would love the chance of fighting JMM,dependent on the result tonight we will be clear if this can happen or not.
Along with Ricky i think this would be a great fight against a legend in JMM,i know we'll get the usual he'll get ko'd and outclassed nonsense but for Ricky to be able to be in this position is very exciting and one both of us are very proud of.
Ricky wants to fight the best in the world not just the UK, I read Kevin Mitchell feels Rickys team will avoid him because hes a threat, well we dont see it like that im afraid, Kevin as always been nice to both Ricky and i but theres only one winner of a fight between the two Ricky Burns and Kevin knows this.

Why is it laughable? JMM is nowhere near the fighter he was. He was also put on his arse by Katsidis, Ricky wasn't.
It will be evident how far gone he is tonight. Boxing is about timing. I am sure plenty of folk would have laughed at the though of Khan beating Barrera but it happened. I honestly think Ricky would be in with a decent shout now.

Marquez would probz stuggle lose a few rounds as hes one of the smallest lightweight as Diaz and Katsidis where bigger and so is Burns. But he would ko him in round 8 imo way to skilled to much class.

I can't see jmm wanting fight Ricky tbh. If he loses tonight he'll probably want one more big money fight perhaps Rios or Morales.

I really can't see this fight happening, I think win or lose JMM will be after as many big pay days as possible and I just don't think Ricky is at the level where he can offer that yet.

if it did happen I would choose JMM by TKO/KO but there's no shame in that, he is 3-4 best boxer in the world P4P and I would wish Ricky the best of luck.

Either way, Mitchell or Marquez, two fights that hold a lot of interest for me. Hope at least one of them takes place.

Billy, it's a no-brainer if Ricky can get a fight with JMM that would be a dream fight.

If not get Mitchell up and batter him, Anderson-DeGale and Simmo-Smith III on the undercard.

North V South ....... Scotland V England :happy

Ricky hasn't even headlined his own card the last two times he's fought, why would JMM get in the ring with him?

burns has been so impressive in past couple of fights and must rank as the most improved fighter i have seen in years , personally i would love to see a huge domestic fight between him and kevin although kevin is so up and down with issues outside the ring you cannot now be sure which kevin mitchell will turn up ,even at the top of his game i still cant see kevin having enough to prevent a comfortable points victory for burns.

Marquez only wants legacy defining fights I imagine. I can't imagine he'll fight the likes of Ricky Burns win or lose after tonight.

Burns is too good for a warm-up fight like the last one, and not good enough for Marquez to gain anything from it. Also, I reckon if he does continue at the top level after tonight it'll be at 140lbs.

I want to see this fight .I think Ricky could do good against him .Styles make fights .Last few fights JMM against Katsidis and Diaz for example .They're both brawlers .A boxer like Mayweather .I think Ricky has a style that could give him problems .Obviously not in his prime but still a great fight for Ricky .He beats JMM he could be getting huge on the world scene .
