Do you think Gamboa has a serious chance at beating RIOS?

I think he should have fought Donaire or fought at 130 first before going up to 135. Or even fight a lesser guy at 135 to test how he handles being in the ring weighing that much before facing Rios.

If Gamboa was a long lanky 126 pouncdf with a nice reach and jab, facing Rios wouldn't be so bad, but he's a midget with short arms.

I'll be betting on Gamboa if the fight happens. He's got twice the skills Rios has. Rios can be outboxed and I think Gamboa hits at least as hard as Rios previous opposition. Rios is entertaining but I think he is pretty overrated as a fighter

Gamboa is too fast and skilled for Rios and the size difference is not that great , I think there's a strong possibility that this fight will happen and when it does Gamboa will take Rios to school and will KO him before round 8 . Peace .

    i got gamboa.

he has to use the same strategy for rios as cotto should have againest margo:

keep distance, clinch when **** gets crazy, stay off ropes

do this he wins, but if he hurts rios likes hes done the rest of his opponents, finish him

gamboa's lukin HENCH right now! think he shud test the waters 1st at lightweight tho. If he boxes smart i think he will dismantle rios(who will probs brutally stop murray IMO) but if he decides 2 go toe 2 toe wiv rios id say it puts rios at an advantage

he has a very good chance, id say. rios is a brawler. falls right into gamboa's hands with his speed and quickness

Gamboa will come in the ring at the same weight as rios..i don't see how rios is gonna cope with his speed..Gamboa all the way.

Gamboa potentially has 2 fights @130 planned before fighting Rios @135

The first of the two will be Roman Martinez in Feb , then potentially Juanma

Rios fights John Murray March 12th , depending on how them fights pan out , depends on whether Arum makes Rios Gamboa @135 before Gamboa Lopez @130

How Gamboa looks @130 should give an indication of how he will look 130+ , the way he looks physically in between fights certainly would suggest his natural weight class will be 135 or maybe 140 in 12 months

I think Donaire can put Gamboa or Juanma out of his mind for the next 18 months too

I think Gamboa would overwhelm Rios with his speed and box circles around him. When Rios turns defensive he becomes a lot like margarito and just walks straight forward. Rios would have a significant height and reach advantage but I still give the edge to Gamboa on speed and technical ability.

Rios is in his prime and Gamboa will try to turn into a boxer. IMO, a prime pressure fighter is very hard to beat. I don't think Gamboa has the style to beat Rios.
