It isn't about capacity moron. If that where true there are a million other places who would do better. The MGM obviously has some unique characteristics and their team some unique talents to turn a smaller capacity into bigger revenue.

By ruling out the MGM, it's a clear demonstration, at least imv, that Arum wants no part of this fight right now. Even if he's truly against staging the fight there, immediately rejecting the venue isn't a prudent negotiating tactic, particularly when dealing with people as difficult as Team Mayweather to negotiate with.

For the record, I'm hoping the fight of this caliber can be staged in large stadium where an unprecedented atmosphere could potentially be created.

This fight will happen at the MGM. They damn sure won't have it in Arlington. There is nothing to do and the hotels will probably be booked already. The money is at the MGM.

MGM Grand has definitely been mistreated, abused, and spoken of like an unworthy site by many posts Ive read on this site and others. Ive read people throwing out locations that dont have half the boxing pedigree as MGM Grand. Size is not everything, remember that the city also plays a role. Mayweather-Pacquiao would be a citywide event, few cities can accomodate the circus of the biggest fight of our lives like Las Vegas/MGM Grand can.

It's not just the arena, it's the city and surrounding area. MGM Grand has all that and has the track record. Nearly all the mega fights in my lifetime were at the MGM Grand, **** nobody comes close. The closest thing to MGM Grand is Mandalay Bay Resort and Casion owned by MGM Resorts International hosting the Shark Reef Aquarium and Katy Perry this month. But not even Mandalay is touching MGM Grand when it comes to the superfight atmosphere. And I never heard ANYONE doubting that this fight would occur in MGM Grand UNTIL Bob Arum started naming other places. Then people jumped on the bandwagon with him and started shafting MGM Grand.

If Arum truly intends to help make this fight happen, i believe he'll steer it to the Texas Stadium - his friend Jerry Jones wants a piece of that action...

Biggest fight ever and not being held in vegas is a sin. Would be like the president not being sworn in at washington dc.

    Oh shut it.

They haven't started negotiating but MoneyTeam already reserve MGM on May 5.

    Ridiculous.
