It's the fact he stands square on and has no footwork at all that will be his undoing before he even gets to Euro level. His love handles probably wont help either.
Fury walked square on with his hands down into a huge over hand right. The right hand was thrown from 4 or five feet and the guys in the nose bleed seats could see it 5 seconds before it landed. No fighter can take punches in that manner. Fury was hurt but cleared his head in seconds which shows he has top class recovery. Fury needs a defence or the world level heavies will take him apart.
I think Tyson's problem is that he is extremely inconsistent and he clearly was not get in great shape for this fight, he was better against Firtha (apart from in the round where he was rocked), Chisora and Nascimento but this reminded me of his performances against John McDermott and Rich Power. He needs to stay with a trainer, it was bad enough early on in his career but at this point he won't go anywhere unless he stays with a trainer and knuckles down and lets someone work on his faults.
The big irishman does exactly as he says on the tin, he comes to fight, isnt scared of taking a shot & provides thrills & spills to a terrestrial tv audience! & when you come to fight? Knockdowns happen. Its the heavyweights after all:deal Tyson Fury on C5 is great for our dying sport.
I think that it's not that he's getting worse, it's that he has had a weakness that has not been exposed.
Least he admitted, albeit jokingly, that his 'chin has gone' after the fight. That's the only hope for him. He's not one of those deluded head in the sand types.
There is the argument that it's bar room brawlers like Fury being on free to air channels that are killing intrest in the sport.
Fury, for his size, is physically weak. He gets manhandled far too easily and as a result, panics when he gets rushed because he doesn't have the strength to fend off an attack. More work on the physical side methinks as he has a fair degree offensive technique but his lack of strength affects his defensive game. Saying that, his head movement is proper ****! :yep
You think so? The days when I talked about a boxer from these shores to anyone who knew who the **** they were are but a decade old memory aqualung. For me, Tyson Fury having shootouts on a terrestrial channel can ONLY be a good thing. So what if he went down, everyone is so Mayweatheresque in their opinions nowadays that if you go down or you get beat its a bad thing IMO. This is the fight game, & Fury gives us exciting heavyweight fights. Theres no negative IMO.
