Bruce is getting bolder, thrusting out hard jabs. Laurente is giving ground, no longer flurrying to the body or smashing in with hooks from either side. Bruce is allowed to come forward and jab out of his guard. Laurente finally opens up about halfway into the round, tossing a bunch of leather into Bruce's guard but then backing up. Bruce comes forward and jabs. Laurente bends his knees and stretches his upper body backward to get off the jab. Laurente suddenly finds a burst of aggression, and starts hooking in again. Bruce just covers up and lets Laurente shell away on him. Laurente is cut, probably by a jab. Right hand lead by Bruce. Laurente tries to slap the body. Right by Bruce again. Double jab by Bruce.

Weird, Sheridan and Marotta ignored all of Bruce's good work until the last ten seconds and chastised him for not doing enough when Laurente did almost nothing (just two big moments where he flurried and didn't land clean)

Scoring boxing is highly subjective. :good (up to a point, anyway...in close rounds like these it definitely is)

 

Round 4

Bruce is coming forward, pumping the jab and making Laurente toss low body shots while crouching and creeping in. Bruce lands a few right hands and has Laurente a little buzzed for a moment. Slapping hooks by Laurente. Bruce is just catching on his mitts and taking baby steps forward to slowly back Laurente up. Hooking combo caught on the arms by Bruce. Big flurry by Laurente and Bruce lands a short uppercut on the inside.

Again better quality by Bruce, and Laurente didn't overwhelm him with enough volume to offset that quality.
