I watched the same commentary. A few things. Amir Khan had no clue what was happening in any of the fights on the entire card. He spent the evening saying "good shape", and agreeing with practically everything the other guy was saying. Also, the other guy was doing a great job at ignoring punches landed by Manny Pacquiao. The idea that the commentators were actually trying to give Pacquiao rounds is ludicrous.

I say it was a robbery because JMM won more rounds and countered pretty much everything Pac threw at him for most of the fight

    watching the replays again.

    yup. still a robbery

Why cause these boxers understand fighting and the science which you casual fans dont.

JMM "consistantly!" landed clean punches on mannys face.

    Disgusting robbery.

anyone hopkins dawson any reputable boxer find me one there wont be.

FIND ME ONE REPUTABLE BOXER WHO SAID MANNY WON. THERE WONT BE.

At first I thought it was a robbery

But upon reflection there are points you can give to pacman for winning. But in a very close fashion SD way not what we had tonite/this morning

1-Pacman was always moving forward/aggressor lookin to fight and JMM was countering beautifully

2-after 6 rounds it could honestly have been 5-1 JMM or 3-3 or 4-2 Pacman because of how you score the fight

3-there was biased commentary to JMM on primetime even with Amir Khan there - who had it I think for Marquez and obviously biased towards pacman a bit, his co-commentator a Latino whose name I forget was screaming wildly for JMM and every punch he landed

4-People think pacman should have ko'ed JMM and that JMM was too old and slow and that manny was a superman now but he fought well below par and what many of us expected and JMM fought well above our expectations

5-the final round manny looked exchausted and he might have sneaked it by connecting more solidly and being the aggressor but then at the same time of you consider the accurate counters of JMM in that round which also was not much you could score for him

6-many close rounds which could be judged either way

7-overall JMM won the event while manny for the decision I think it was a draw but I would score this a couple of times over to be sure

8-the clear cut issues I saw was JMM fighting brilliantly but not doing enough to some and manny fighting below par and deflated

9-I also think manny was mentally/psychologically intimidated by the fact he was fighting his nemesis and having won so many fights convincingly in recent times manny and roach and co were in unfamiliar waters with the insecurity of not knowing If they we're winning or losing (I have a feeling this may also be the case in cotto vs margo 2)

10-JMM having fought the best fight obviously landed less due to his counter punching strategy and he looked more busted up than manny, I think it would be interesting to see a breakdown of punches landed for each round but obviously that isn't the only factors

    Close fight IMO

I was gonna make a thread basically saying everything you just told us...its the absolute truth. JMM beat Pac & PBF will do an even worse number on him.

I'm so pissed that Marquez was robbed again, but he should have applied more pressure in the 12th the secure the victory.

    **** it...

the rounds which JMM won he landed the cleaner and effective punches. Bet all the judges gave all the close rounds to pac.

pac won but close, and i think people feel he lost because marquez was so competitive and didn't get koed but if you want to be champ you have to take the belt away from the champ. pac won his rounds because marquez was not doing in much, and pac was willing to throw punches and work. if someone is throwing punches and the other person isn't the round goes to the person with higher activity. marquez won his punches with boxing skill and counterpunching. the rounds marquez won was more definative and clear but he didn't have enough rounds. keep in mind vegas judges also love when a fighter is going foward as that looks like he is the agressor and controlling the fight in their eyes. he also should have never listened to his coach that he was winning the fight. NEVER IN BOXING OR LIFE MAKE ASSUMPTIONS. marquez just so happens to have the style that confuses pacqiuao. he is ken norton to manny's ali. if they fought 100 times it would still be like this. can't base anything off this fight with what would happen if he fought mayweather just like i don't think we ought to base anything off mayweather's split dec victory over dlh while manny tkoed him in 8, or mayweather had some early trouble with hatton and koed him in 8 while manny blew him away in two.

Yeah that's why Pacquiao's face was bruised and busted at the end of the fight, and not Marquez.

    Oh wait...

I saw some here say, this was done so Pac can continue "ducking" FLoyd--coming from *****s I gather.

    I had the opposite take.

This could be pure genius, IMO, if Pac held back so as to look bad, and now Floyd will finally be emboldened to fight Manny now, and then we will see the old Manny...

Just one possibility. Not saying this is what really happended.

Now as far as who won, I did not see the whole fight, so I cannnot now say. From what I saw, it looked like Marquez won, but rds except for a bare few, were nearly all so very close.

to be fair i gave pac most of the last rounds, round 12 was close but both were missing badly. 10 and 11 I'm pretty sure pac won them but middle rounds goes to marquez
