I believe we should all get together and make an incredibly long list of consensus ATGs who had plenty of trouble with b-level guys because there's a wicked crapload of them and I'm sure you know that.

It's not always about your "win column" though, gentle Addie. Sometimes you have to go on what your eyes tell you the quality of the fighter is. :nod

Tonight Juan Manuel Márquez proved he is an all-time great.

    He defeated Manny Pacquiao.

Only boxing lost tonight; these decision robberies kill the sport. But, tragically, it's nothing new.

PacMan has lifted boxing's profile worldwide, but that's no excuse for this sham.

    It doesn't really matter.

Juan Manuel Márquez can keep his head held high: he can ride off into the sunset knowing tonight he was the better man over the erstwhile P4P best in the world.

¡Mucho, Juan Manuel! Hoy ganaste y tu país nunca olvidará tu proeza de esta noche. ¡Eres el mejor, campeón!

He clearly is an ATG and his body of work proves it.

Whilst I thought tonight's fight was pretty close, one can't deny that JMM put on a masterful display and proved himself to be among the very best of the last 20 years.

Frankly I see no reason for Marquez to fight Pacman again. He has shown he is the better fighter in all 3 fights unfortunately the inept jusges keep cheating him out of his victories over Pacman. Did you notice Pacquiao and Arum are not so keen to face PBF because they are scared. If Marquez deals with Pacquiao the way he does imagine what PBF will do to Pacman.

    Sí.

PacMan is good but it is clear that a true all-time great with polished technique will get him.

After the PacMan Fever that has gripped the world in recent years, this fight places Pacquiao in his rightful all-time place: he is very good, excellent, even great. He has beaten many large men, who, though nothing special historically, were good and strong.

But he was never among the very greatest fighters of all time.

Beautiful performance by Marquez. He was very hard done by (I had it a draw, but felt that if I had to give it to one of them it would be Marquez). Don't know where the score 116-112 came from at all.

Another master class and for many it has to go down as 1 of the best wins ever, judges scores aside. We have to remember that not only has he neutralised, countered and outboxed many peoples P4P no1 BUT He has done it at the age of 38!!

Marquez is an ATG but I thought he was before this. His reigns at FW, SFW and LW are all vastly underrated, especially his FW opposition. People ignored Marquez becoming the best LW in the world in his late 30s because he was in the shadow of Pacquaio who having such success at WW.

Marquez has to be the greatest Mexican since Chavez if not the greatest Mexican of all time

Impossible to justify a 8-4 scorecard, 5 Clear Marquez rounds and 7 close rounds, of which I thought JMM won 3-4 of them. A 7-5 win for Manny win is wrong but arguable, 8-4 is outrageous

I called a scorecard fix before the fight happened, I thought there was no way Arum would let his cash cow lose on points. Marquez himself said he knew he needed the KO to win
