I agree with most here. But the carry on people make about beating a reigning champ is over-rated. Geale beat Sylvester who won a vacent title without any tough defences. How good was Sylvester?

    Its all realative.

Look I think it would be a very good acheivement if Mundine can do it. He looks a very different athlete at 154 than 168. I think his ideal weight would have been 160.

Good acheivement mainly just because of the weight. The titles are what they are.

But really, given where Mundine was at, he had to do something, and it wasnt a bad idea to try to leave some sort of legacy. I mean sure boxing experts would (has not beat Trout etc yet) debate how legit title were, but at the end of the day they are labled world title so Mundine will parade himself as a 4 time world champion, and the first man the win world titles in 3 decending weight divisions.

He had to do something. The show needed some purpose.

And again in regards to world titles, Mundine 'regular titles' and IBO are as legit if not more than Fenechs first IBF title.

This. Not one real world title on his record. Shame really. He actually had some ability about 5 years ago.

At least now he is rich.

Mundines done really well but the only world champs or former world champs he has beat are lester Ellis, danny Green and daniel Geale and against Geale he outright cheated or his hangers on intimidated the judges.Lets keep some perspective on what Anthony Mundine has achieved.he could of had a much greater career but could not be bothered.

tbh if he actually fought and beat the champions that held the belt rather than fighting for vacant or interim titles it would be an achievement.seems like hes trying to do it the easy way without taking chances.

    Spot on gents.
If a fighter goes to a respected champion's backyard, takes the respected title from the champ, then dominates a competitive division for years, ducking no one, then that's an achievement.
