So there is no clear guidance? Then all promoter has to do is pick judges that favor his fighters style of fighting; much like a lawyer pick jurors that tends to show bias in favor of his/her client.

I liked Pacquiao and thought he won both previous fights against Marquez, but he lost this fight clearly. I gave him 3 rounds on my scorecard, and that was being generous.

He was hardly more active than Marquez at any point of the fight...I don't know why HBO were pushing that.

There were some very close rounds. I had it 115-113 for Pac also, but could have easily scored it 115-113 for Marquez or had it a draw. I felt Marquez landed the more meaningful shots and his body work was something to behold. Of course Manny threw more and landed more...

All the **** talk from Pacquiao's camp. Marquez made them look like fools last night.

I have more respect for Marquez than any fighter in boxing right now. He went up 2 divisions where he doesn't belong and schooled Pacquiao again!

And if all the criteria are subjective, then judging is opinion based. Nobody should shout robbery; because everybody has his/her opinion. But only the official judges opinions count.

domination my ass. Many rounds were very close. pacquiao landed more punches though JMM landed the more awesome shots.

I can't see how you call it a domination. I scored it for pacquiao but wouldn't argue with those who see it for marquez. But domination?:tired

+1 and maybe Pacquioa just noticed that JMM was way ahead on points that's why he changed his style and brought the old Pacquioa back.. But still, it was another close fight.. Just like their first two meetings..

...and Mayweather is ALL WRONG for Pacquiao.

Pacquiao's weakness are boxer types who can backpedal, move side to side and has counterpunching technique.

Floyd is ALL OF THE ABOVE, and he is faster than 38 yo Marquez

Geez, there's a wide range of possibilities between having the most rigid standards and having complete subjectivity reign. You seem to be implying that unless there's amateur style scoring there can never be a robbery, which is clearly preposterous.

I agree. Marquez deserved the nod, but with the roid possibility and the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight looming, it's time to close this chapter for now.

I smell a Marquez vs Pac-man IV in the making after Mayweather is through with Pac-man.
    :hey

I just watched the fight. Wow, that was really boring. Both fighters were too cagey.

JMM looked to be too wary of Pacquiao's power and too defensive as a result. Pacquiao looked to be too wary of JMM's counter punching ability and didn't throw as many punches as he usually does.

I don't see why there's a furore over the result, I had Pacquiao winning by two rounds. He was the more aggressive of the two and did more work. Neither landed any big, meaningful punches. Pacquiao threw a lot more combinations while JMM was mainly looking for counter pot-shots.

It was one of those close fights where the commentary and atmosphere can sway your opinion. I imagine the majority of those on Twitter furious about the result watched one of the many PrimeTime streams available last night, who had it for JMM. HBO, of whom there were far less streams available, had it for Pacquiao. I watched a replay with the sound turned off and no scoring from the commentators/ringside analysts shown on screen.
