..and all so that the most lucrative fight ever still has legs.

As someone who would have tried to get tickets for Pac/May were it ever to happen, the outcome of last nights fight has made up my mind for me. I will never buy ANY PPV event on offer again.

Khan and his co-commentator pissed me off too. When the bell for the final ring went and Marquez was celebrating, they were talking about Khans willingness to fight JMM. Then when that travesty of a decision came, not one of them had the backbone to question and criticise the decision.

I love boxing. But it's outcomes like this that make it no surprise that UFC and MMA are gaining such popular followings but I'm losing faith in this sport after last night

Look at Pacquiaos body language when Arum was being interviewed. He knew he lost that fight and knew why the fans were booing. But still was adamant he won. I've lost a lot of respect for him.

    Power punches thrown 274-Pacquiao 254-Marquez
    Power connected 117-Pac 100-Marq
    Total thrown 578-Pac 436-Marq
    Total connected 176-Pac 138-Marq

Note: there were no knock downs in the fight. so How does a fighter who throws more, lands more, and is the aggressor the whole fight lose the fight?

I had him winning 7 of the rounds.

I was pretty pissed off to hear 116-112 pacquiao.

Grow up. There wasn't one person in that arena who thought Pac won (2 judges aside)

If it wasn't so ridiculous it would be laughable.

By outlanding his opponent with the better punches in 7 or more of the rounds.

Compubox numbers are interesting, but the fact that people really believe that they can be definitive is disturbing.

I watched the fight last night drunk and thought Pac would be too strong for JMM. I expected him to, at anytime turn it up and walk through JMM. I did say that JMM makes it a tough fight if it goes 12 and Pac doesn't just walk through him early but I didn't expect THAT close.

As I was expecting so much from Pac, and so were the fans and the experts, it seemed to downplay the extra 1 or 2 punch he lands and amplify everything JMM did. Based on his recent performances, we've been accustomed for more and so unimpressed by him winning a round only slightly.

I've watched it again today and scored without bias and without any expectations, just seeing 2 evenly matched guys and taking the round for what it is.

For the record I had bets on Pac by KO but due to the 28-1 odds on JMM by decision, I also had some on that and would have won some good money had that come through.

    My scorecard:
    1-Pac (Clear)
    2-JMM (Clear)
3-JMM (Close and could go either way)
    4-Pac
    5-JMM (Very clear)
6-Pac (Close and could go either way)
    7-JMM (Clear)
    8-JMM (Clear)
9-Pac (Close and could go either way)
10-JMM (Close and could go either way)
11-Pac (Close and could go either way)
12-Pac (Close and could go either way)

    A draw.

Now if it was scored for JMM 10-2 I wouldn't even have a problem with that, I could see that although I would say it was slightly bias as that is giving every close round to JMM. A more acceptable scorecard in JMM's favour would be 7-5. A bias scorecard in Pac's favour would be 8-4 which I believe 1 judge had it.

IMO JMM has a stronger case for winning it if we were to be bias towards either side, but objectively I think its a draw and could go to either fighter. It really was not a robbery, pretty much as close as their 2nd fight. The difference is, people expected that to be a close fight, people were expecting Pac to wipe JMM out and when it didn't happen, felt like they got robbed as they were scoring against their expectations.

I think Floyd beats Pac, however styles makes fights and Floyd is not JMM, he's a different type of counterpuncher. I would love to see how that fight unfolds and Pac seems open to the may 5 date based on his post fight interview. I'm not that keen on a Pac-JMM 4, its gonna be the same result, JMM has his number.

Stats are important when fights are close. Lara vs Williams was a robbery. This fight not so much. Fight was close.
