Forget talk of Povetkin/ the Klits, if Fury were to fight the limited yet powerful Stirvene with his current non-existent defence he would hit the canvas sharpish, and he wouldn't be getting up. Talk of him fighting for a world title next year are, for me, ludicrous.
He's no worse than the guy Fury has just fought. He's poor, but he's got world class power. On Fury's showing last night, he'd have beaten him.
stiverne is balls. however he does have a dig. world class power? hes not proved that yet. as ling as tyson fights smart and gets into decent shape(unlikely) then no reason he cant win

If it wasn't for the hype he gets (from Fat Mick and himself) and his 6"9 height, people would probably take him for what he is, a fighters fighter, a guy who is limited but who you can bank on to provide value for money when he enters the ring because he is looking for a fight not a Boxing match.
Lillis in the presser made a point i felt as well, 'Didn't look like you wanted to be in there early on'. Fury wasn't sharp at all, but the way he recovered and got the supposed 'Badass' shaking like Stevens showed the lad can fight. Not that i needed to see that cos i already know he can. If Tyson wanted to he could of won that last night with ease but he's regressed in last two fights. Seems to wanna have a tear up and getting caught by same bloody punch and in same fashion. He sorta waved at Pajkic like 'lets ave it' and then went at it stupidly getting himself floored. He creates these problems himself...if he's sharp he can beat Bermane. Who would get busted up at range. If he fights like last night....Stirvene wins via KO. He can dig a fair bit...
Yeah, i pretty much agree with that. It's just when i hear Hennessy come out with 'Tyson will be the best heavyweight on the planted in 1 and a half years' and ' Tyson busted up Mike Perez badly twice in sparring, it would be a mis-match', both of which are patently not true, it gets me riled up! Stirvene is rubbish, but i stand by what i said regarding his power.
I would like Mick to scrap the January fight, Tyson tbh shouldn't have been near a ring after things he was saying in build up. Let him rest he's a baby in HW terms let him rest up after a ****ing hard year. 3 undefeated fighters he's beaten this year. Not bad at all...
Yeah, your probably right. I'd like to see him fight Perez next however, i know Perez is supposed to have looked average against Page recently but we all know its very tasking to look impressive against the awkward American. I know it's a high risk, low reward type of fight for Fury, but if Tyson's really a guy who will 'fight anyone' as he puts it, then this fight should be made.
Yeah i'd have no problems this fight being made, I worry for Tyson he's not settled. He needs consistent work and discipline.
:deal He clearly needs time off, he looked jaded and unfocused last night. I read an interesting post on another thread on ESB, may be bs though you never know with some of the posts you get on here, apparently someone's trainer knows Tyson and he said that Tyson is falling out of love with Boxing. That would be a big shame if true. But even without taking that into account, four fights in six months is a big ask for any fighter, let alone one who has not been performing to the best of their abilities and apparently has personal problems. But the problem is that Mick has no other fighters he can realistically showcase on Channel 5. If he is really interested in developing Tyson as a fighter he should give him a rest and make a deal with Frank ****** to showcase a big name like Nathan Cleverly, James Degale or George Groves on Channel 5 whilst he puts on the full undercard for the show.
Fury looks like a very poor mans Dimitrenko to me. The way he was moving yesterday made Valuev look like Sugar Ray Robinson. At this stage Fury would lose badly to any top 20 heavy and will be in a very tough see-saw fight with any heavy inside the top 100, see Chisora, Firtha (was he even top 100?) and Pajkic. Fury really needs to shelf all this talk of facing the Klitschko's and Povetkin and instead spend the next 2 years facing the likes of Dallas, Big Larry, Sexton, Rogan, Harrison, Danny Williams and the like. He's young enough anyway which gives him plenty of time to fine tune every aspect of his game, I don't expect we'll see the best of Fury until he's in his 30's anyway. He really needs to go out of his way and completely change the way he fights. He's a 6'9 bloke that fights as if he's 5'9. It must be the knacker in him that ******edly thinks it's a good idea to throw away his only advantage and fight in the pocket trading blows with zero defence. That very well will likely win him plenty of casual fans that have only really watched the Rocky films as their previous boxing introduction and think that is the normal way to fight. It wasn't that long ago when just after his training camp with Steward that he faced Zack Page and you could see he clearly was moulding his style to work behind the jab and improve his footwork, in patches he done this against Chisora as well but in his last 2 fights that seems to have all gone out the window. I won't personally take any fight Fury has again seriously if he ever comes into the ring that fat again. He needs to lose at least a stone of fat for his next fight minimum, he's 6'9, there really is no excuse for being in such a disgraceful condition with that frame. He's probably allowed around 4000 calories a day with that height anyway. With his next fight likely coming after Christmas I would be stunned if he comes into that fight in a reasonable condition, I suspect he will be walking around well over the 20 stone mark come January the 1st.
Stiverne is a step in the right direction while not jumping into a fight too far too early. Good fight!
