    1. It was reported that he was doping up for the fight in a major way, so instead of having him lose the fight- which he won in my opinion- via a no-contest a few weeks later, they decided to start him off in the whole by 2 or 3 rounds, if it went to a decision. And, if it was a ko, or it would have been a no-contest a few weeks later after "investigations" would have taken place.

    2. Because the Mayweather vs. Pac-man fight is a definite possibility for 2012, Marquez, unless he had ko'd Pac-man, he would not have stood a chance of winning a decision this time around. That and coupled with the fact that Marquez was clearly doping, it meant that Marquez was the certain loser of the fight, no matter what!

Sometimes we critisize boxing, but often times, to save a bigger scandal and fiasco, the sport comes together to minimize the damage that can happen as a result of other factors that may have shaped the fight.

If you look at Pac-man, he wasn't even fighting in the rounds. He was barely even moving and coming in. It was not Pac-man. The fight was a sparring session. A very high-priced sparring session.
    :bbb

It is what it is... but, this does mean that there IS room for a Marquez vs. Pacman IV. Which I would pay to see after the Mayweather vs. Pacman showdown in mid to mid-late 2012.

Yup. And for the fact that Marquez was obviously doping. Another scenario with Marquez fighting Floyd IF he had won officially would have been a disater for the build up. I think Pac-man went easy in the fight as well... but those two factors are the main reason why Pacman "won"... everyone knows it by now!

    This and then some...

    Lol.

When I saw Pacquiao walking towards the ring I noticed how he seems to have a sad face. Same with Buboy and the rest of the crew. Of course I didn't entertain any idea further as I thought it's ridiculous to think so. But now that you mention it... nah it is still ridiculous.

There are unwritten rules and stories for every sport and every organization... boxing is no different.
    :hey

Does anyone have the fight up already on Dailymotion or Youtube yet?

it's just really unfair that we can see pac-floyd by robbing JMM of this should have been hard earned victory.

what makes me mad is that sometimes juan would open a round with 3 unanswered 4 punch combinations so he is winning the round clearly. he snaps the head of pac again. but pac just lands two straight lefs. all of a sudden, rounds even

Didnt you know, Manny starts the round 10-9 even if a punch hasn't been thrown.

How many times does Marquez have to beat Manny to get the win!

Marquez lost so that Arum can sell us Pacqiaou - Marquez IV. Or Pacman vs another old or shot fighter.

... another unwritten rule. Some fighters do start off ahead. Wonders what they would do with a Mayweather vs. Pacman fight? The scorers would be in a very tough position. Wouldn't want that job at all!

... sometimes it be'es that way. If he had not been suspected of doping, plus he would have won via ko, then we would want to see a PBF vs. Marquez next year, and still want a PBF vs. Pacman fight, plus a Marquez vs Pacman IV.
