Last night we got the same Pacquiao we've had for the past few years. He was in great condition, had loads of speed, and was properly trained for the fight. The problem was that for once he wasn't in with a punching bag. He was in with a counterpunching mastermind who actually moves out of the way of punches and punishes misses.
@ gold- what do you mean he was waiting for Pacman to grow old? You know FLoyd is older than him right? Add to that he fights every year and a half, so the ring rust should be on Floyds side, not Manny's..I just think it's becoming increasingly clear that pacman has no more than a punchers chance against Floyd. You're right JMM isn't Floyd Mayweather, Floyd does literally everything better than JMM- his defense, his power in his punches, his counterpunching capability, his combinations, his speed and elusivity...you're right that they're not much a like...
I didnt see any speed or combos at all just a punch here and there and he couldnt even drop him or even land flush. Marquez is not the hardest guy to hit even ****ing katsidis dropped him.
You did not see any off that because JMM out boxed him in every department, Pac doesnt know how to cut the ring off, and he doesnt know how to deal with movement!!!
pacs high pace style is harder to maintain for an old fighter and wears fighters out where as mayweathers pot shotting style is more suited for an old fighter. You already knew that but just play dumb.
Umm,he was beating Ortiz who last time i checked was the world champion and coming off a big win over Berto. He was in all liklihood the number 3 WW in the world after Floyd and Manny. Look Pacquiao struggled massively against Marquez. He did in 2004, he did in 2008 and he did last night. Mayweather on the other hand completely destroyed Marquez 2 years ago.
But pac still won so how did he outbox him? Who told you marquez won last time i checked pac beat him. By the way Pac W 12 MD and Pac STILL P4P 1.:hat
I'm not playing dumb, I'm going by the history of these 2 fighters. Have you seen Floyd fight high volume fighters before??If so you'd notice that there is once common denominator in all those type of fights- those high volume punchers outputs are shockingly much lower than their normal averages. So is that just coincidence or is it the possibility that Floyd dictates the type of fights his opponents are going to have to fight? That's the quintessential definition of a ring general, when you force another fighter to fight your style of fight and dominate him. Aside from the 1st JLC fight, I havent seen anyone make Floyd change his gameplan; he might show slight adjustments/tweaks in the fight, but he won't change his overall strategy against anyone. And P.S. Pacman sure looks a lot older than Floyd, maybe all those sabbaticals Floyds been taking was to preserve his fighting style into his mid 30's..
Floyd strugled with old fat delahoy and barely got a split decision. Pac on the other hand destroyed delahoya it wasn't even close:hat P.s lets not even mention hatton.
@ gold- LOL you're a really funny poster. I'm assuming everything you're saying is sheer sarcasm....Lets get it straight, Floyd fought Oscar at DLH's normal weight. He didn't fight him at Welterweight like he did against Manny, a 147 pound drained version of oscar, a weight he hadn't made in over 10 years. I would've loved to see Oscar fight Floyd at the WW limit, I don't think he would've been able to catch him at all throughout the fight. And as for the Hatton destruction, it's much easier to beat a fighter when the blueprint has already been laid out on how to defeat him. You also have to factor in the psyche of Hatton after getting his first defeat in a very dominating fashion. It was basically the perfect recipe for disaster when Ricky took on MP...
Arum won, you saw Pac after the fight thats defeated fighter, everyone booed him i wonder why lol Everyone booed the most loved fighter, can you brain understand why is that the case?
Marquez got dropped by Katsidis because he went to war with him. He boxed Pacquiao's ass off and didn't let him get close enough to drop him.
