    Agreed.

Both are counter punchers and very skilled but the way they go about doing it is very different. JMM has solved Pac, plain and simple. He makes Pac pay for coming in and Pac still hasn't been able to get past JMM's counters. JMM times Pac with every punch imaginable. Jab, upper cut, hook, straight right. It's like JMM was put on this planet to make Pac look bad.

I'm on the samepage as you and I think a lot of posters need to see this because their 2 different fighters and if were talking about pure counterpunching, Marquez is definetly better than Mayweather in that department.

Not to take anything from JMM... but put styles aside..

    Floyd vs JMM

    Whos faster?
    Who has better timing?
    Who punches harder?
    Who is more accurate?
    Who has better head movement?
Who has better footwork to take away angles?

I respect the effort put into the post, and I understand the point, but I absolutely disagree.

Oscar gave Floyd all he could handle with his wild swinging the first 8 rounds. It was a tossup fight until Oscar gassed in the 9th. Aggressive volume punchers will be favored by judges over counterpunchers. Just watch Hopkins-Calzaghe.

 You can't put aside styles cause that's the most important factor.

Doesn't matter who's better, your missing the point. It's how they do it. It's like saying "Mike Tyson does everything better then Frazier, so he gives Ali more problems". .which probably isn't the case.

Yeah but if he's not throwing combinations, turning Pacquaio and taking chances the way Marquez does(and that's not his style) than he isn't gonna be landing that many punches on Pacquaio either who can match his speed and than you gotta give it to the guy who's more busier, and that's Pac. I can see another Calzaghe/Hopkins fight playing out again if Floyd and Pac fight.

i agree with the OP i said something along the same line i think mayweather will end up on a shoulder roll NOT getting flush everytime but getting hit by 4-8 punch combos and some are going to break in and eventually it would add up... i said 11 rnd stoppage for pac if mayweather fighst his typical "cocoon" defense

Well Floyd has a better jab, quicker feet, reflexes, and great hand speed. He is also more accurate that JMM. You guys are too busy looking at Floyd instead of looking at Manny's flaws that will do him in against Floyd. Manny couldn't even cut the ring off against JMM. Marquez is second best in timing under Floyd and he neutralized Manny's hand speed. Anyways.

Not reaching at all you just lack the understanding. We're talking about styles and habits. Your just comparing one fighter to another, and saying " this guy is faster and does this and this better" but its not about who does what better its what they do and how they do it.

Lets not kid ourselves.............If Floyd thought he could beat Pacquiao easily he would have taken the fight already.
