As soon as Marquez works Khan out he will have his number....Khans hardly hard to read, and Juan is a great thinker.
Marquez isn't always the force he is when he fights Pacquiao though. It's easy to forget that when hes just put on such a performance. Against Chris John: he struggled with the Indonesian's jab, movement and discipline. I don't really think Khan is particularly smart in the same way but he IS faster and it does mask many mistakes. And yeah I'm aware Pac is also fast but its a different stylistic consideration because Khan can be more effective than Pacquiao from range, Pacquiao has to be at mid-range throwing combinations to be a real force. His jab has improved over the years but its never a decisive factor.
Khan could easily employ the same tactics as Pac last night and get the decision, he wouldn't deserve it but he would get it in Vegas :deal But seriously, it isn't a laughable notion that Khan would be competitive against JMM and possibly even get a decision. Would I pick him after seeing JMM last night? No, but you do have to appreciate that JMM would have trouble due to the way Amir would approach the fight. One of the big reasons for before was that I didn't think JMM could go as high as 140-147 and keep anything of his previous speed, but he looked do much better in that regard than he did in the PBF fight. JMM would time him though and hurt it and when Khan is hurt is still doesn't have the ability and knowledge to properly cover up and prevent himself shipping more punishment. When Amir goes to clinch he is so open for the uppercut and JMM is one of the very best and hurting you with them. I think it would be an excellent and entertaining fight which I'd love to see.
Khan woul cause a problem for marquez, he likes to wait and engage the pull out. that being said marquez is a pure counter puncher marquez - khan / marquez - poochiao / marquez - mayweather or morales / retire
Very tough fight for Khan, now that Marquez has shown he won't be bloated and slow at that weight. He can compete well and time Amir Khan careless attacks. Stylistically both will have problems, Khan with Marquez counter punching and timing, Marquez with Khans jab, reach and speed. I'd say Khan might just sneak it if he's careful and doesn't get careless. I wouldn't want to put money on it though. If Khan does lose to Peterson, the wheels would've really come off from Roach-Ariza-Wild Card team in recent weeks. Linares losing.... and Ariza ****ed up with the cut. Marquez dominating his style over Pacquiao, despite being told by Roach that this was a different animal now and was in his best condition ever, and Ariza saying Marquez was old (maybe slow/bloated at the weight)... and now it's up to Khan to avoid an upset against Peterson.
Didn't JMM go life to death with Katsidis; who just got schooled by Burns. I think Khan would be favourite here.... Potentially Khan has more boxing ability than Pacquiao.
That would be an inaccurate assessment of what happened in the Katsidis fight. It was a tough fight (and a better version of Katsidis) but JMM only had one hard spot, in the the third, a round I actually thought he won despite the knockdown. It was the definition of a 10-9 round. He also stopped the Aussie and Burns hardly schooled the guy in a tough, competitive fight. Khan does not have more boxing ability than Manny.
Katsidis was willing to walk into and through punches to land his own. Pac wasn't and tbh Nacho was bloody right when he said 'this will be easier, Manny was a wildcat in first two fights. He's now more refined and this is easier to deal with'. Many was struggling to find a way in without being tagged. The Katsidis fight wasn't life or death in the end it was becoming one sided and many a fighter would of been stopped earlier then Kats. BTW Kats has pretty much admitted he can't pull the trigger anymore reading through Burns fight report in BN.
I think that dumb twat Matt Christie said it, but Katsidis said he was struggling with the weight and couldn't get through. It was a dreadful write-up. That guy is one of the worst paid boxing writers around.
Darni your at it again. Seeing Juan last night, it'd be very ****ing difficult to justify how you'd pick Khan against him. I know Khan has a better reach but he let's himself get off balance too often and somebody like Marquez would use that to advantage. Btw', Khan's commentating was **** i thought
