I had Prescott up by 3 rds going into the 10th.....I was dumbfounded by his change in strategy, from slugging to holding, without even holding. WTF was he thinking...If it's true that his corner put him up to that....his corner should fork over the million and change he woulda got for a Khan rematch.

Absolutely PATHETIC showing by Prescott in the 10th round of a fight that had a million dollar ramification.:-(

Were you this critical of Linares for blowing it in the last round against DeMarco?

Honestly, both situations can be chalked up to the guy ahead on the cards gassing more than stupidly altering their strategy.

Both boxed like dummies in their fateful final rounds and got stopped partially as a result - but there were other factors at play in both situations. Linares and Prescott both gassed, and DeMarco and Alvarado both did exactly what a warrior's supposed to do - seized the advantage and went for the jugular. :good

I had it 5-4 for Prescott heading into the last. With the KD Alvarado was good for the W, but he managed to close the show to rule out any scoring issues.

My hunch is that Roth had the 86-85 score (which would have flipped with the 10-8 tenth and resulted in a 95-94 Alvarado win w/o the stoppage).

It had to have been the bitches who had it so wide. They were scoring with their clitorises, slobbering over Prescott's chiseled abs!

Would you have seen it as an unjust rendering had Alvarado lost on points (after knocking down Prescott in the 10th and earning a 10-8, but without the subsequent intervention by Nady?)

    :think

I think there would have been a lot of argument about it (at least until the main event got underway, and then resumed maybe about now once the embers of the main event's controversy were cooled down to mere smoking)

I think it may have rubbed me the wrong way had he lost a SD by two points on two cards, and I'd have probably gotten into some very heated exchanges with those who saw it that wide for Prescott - and there did seem to be many...

share exaclty the same thoughts, goodness grief all prescott needed to do on the last round was to box and move but no no no he needed to tell alvarado that he wanted to be knocked out and the stoppage was a disgrace. oh well the main event was a disgrace as well, hail arum hail arum!!!!

Well, at least Khan doesn't have to worry about getting some so-called redemption by beating Prescott. Prescott has been a big fat zero since beating Khan.

That didn't just all of a sudden become true in the 10th round last night...

    It's been true for years.

That's fair. The two judges who still would have had him comfortably losing by a pair despite a 10-8 finale, they're out of line.

(again, my strong suspicion is that Patty & Lisa were the culprits...and in all seriousness no it isn't just base sexism that makes me think that. Roth is vastly more experienced than both of them combined)

Messed up on my vote; voted Alvardo, but it would've headed to a draw by my card. Prescott won the first five and one of the later rounds; kd would've evened it.

Prescott looked good to me in his last fights. He's found a style which suits him. Too bad he seems to have stamina problems. I think he's game as a fighter. Can fight long, behind a jab, but unlike Kahn he can actually fight up close. He actually managed to win some of the in close exchanges with Alvarado, who's game is very polished on the inside.

Prescott, if he ever recovers, is a guy who to me, will always pose a threat to Kahn based on styles.

With the Knockdown I had Alvarado just scraping it. Good fight, and Prescott again ran out of gas and choked. Face it, the guy's just a decent contender with a good punch, and always will be.

The stoppage was legit too I think, Prescott was out of it and really hurt by those uppercuts. I've never seen him that hurt before.
