While I had Marquez winning by two points, meaning I gave him one more round, the fact is the fight was close. I think many people saw it as I did, that JMM won his rounds more convincingly.

Many rounds were close and because of the 10 point must system, the judges have to score it one way or the other. So, a boxer can win 5 rounds convincingly and yet there can be 7 rounds which are close and they are given to other guy. The more dominant fighter can lose as we saw last night.

Get rid of that stupid system. If judges were allowed to give draw rounds, rounds like 1 and 12 would have been a non-factor. Neither fighter did much in those rounds.

The governing bodies discourage this, Lampley said it last night. Probably the only thing he said worthwhile.

If judges were not so reluctant to give 10-10 rounds then the scorecard might have gone for Marquez. Round one for instance could have eaisly been 10-10 but all judges gave it to Pacquaio, so on the 114-114 card, Marquez would have won.

I agree with the spirit of the thread. Judges can score 10-10 rounds I don't know why they don't more often, they should.

Why do they discourage this? Is indecisiveness somehow a sign of weakness? Moe like a sign of fairness and objectivity.

I have no idea mate, draws are often frowned upon stateside but I can't give you a concrete reason.

I agree with your point though, last night two rounds (1 and 12) could have been 10-10 rounds and both went to Pac.

I actually think this is a good point, if its a close round then score it 10 - 10.... I agree rounds 1 and 12 certainly should have been scored this way.

Sorry two of the three judges gave the 12th to Pac but still the scored would have looked different.

Agreed 1 and 12 were very close and could have been 10-10 rounds. If they had been, Marquez wins.

Or you can just do as PetethePrince does and score 10-10 rounds in favor of the fighter you like. So far he agrees with himself every time.

what does money have to do with what the thread starter said?:huh

I agree with it, changed boxing as a whole, check and x marks should be better than 10 point scoring
