Not too late for JMM-Morales, but is that asking too much of these ATG Warriors??

These two should have fought years ago. I think a fight could still be made around 142-144 if they could find a common ground, but I almost feel like it would be wrong to want this fight knowing how punishing it would be for both men. Should this be a fight that is left to the imagination?

Morales shouldn't take that fight now. Let him fight easier opponents and ride off into the sun ..

Well there are rumours about Mayweather, so its clear that Morales isnt thinking about going that route. Its not his nature.

Oddly enough, the timing is just right. (even though it's way too late)

Both have recently proven to have more left than anyone thought.

The Morales that fought Maidana against last night's Marquez makes for a mouth-watering pairing.

However, the Morales who had to dig deep and find a way to pull it out of the fire after digging himself a large pit against Cano - he doesn't fare so well against last night's Marquez. In fact he may get TKO'ed (not KO'ed, but TKO'ed).

On the other end of it - is Marquez even capable of a performance like last night's anymore when he ISN'T going up against Manny Pacquiao? Could it be that he was just so hyper-motivated that he exceeded his own current capabilities under normal circumstances? :think

In summary - it could be fun, but it ultimately wouldn't affect either man's legacy too much either way and wouldn't do much to inform who ranks higher among the "big four", other than to give a vague impression of how their styles look opposite each other in a ring (but still in no way telling the whole story of how it would have gone prime for prime).

Nah, he threw 'em all out when he got super fat. His pants are all custom-made with elastic waists.

MAB is out of the circle.

He's got to ride or die on his existing accomplishments.

He isn't beating ANYONE top 50 at this point, certainly not any of his former top-tier rivals (even if they're well on their way to shot as well).

Personally I still rate him as the greatest of the four since he already had a complete HOF career and retired for the first time a decade ago. Any good wins he's got in the last ten years are just gravy.

I didnt see Morales as ever really digging himself in a pit against Cano, it was only shaky for a round or two imo before he took control. Cano was a strong, solid fighter though just too inexperienced. But, and I know this may sound crazy, Morales imo would give JMM more trouble than Manny did last night even at this stage. Marquez might be favored but its really a close to 50/50 fight all things considered. I think Marquez was at the absolute best he could be for that weight last night. I dont tgink Morales was vs. cano, but like I said it is asking a lot of these guys. Truthfully, neither one deserves to lose a fight from this point till retirement.

Morales doesn't deserve a fight with JMM. Wait, does Morales have a belt?

    Excuse me? :?

No sentence should begin "Morales doesn't deserve..."

Morales and Marquez both deserve whatever the **** they ask for before they retire from boxing.

If Morales wants to challenge Klitschko, he's earned it. (ditto Marquez).

Yes, he won some sort of vacant "title" on the undercard of Mayweather-Ortiz. In fact, his fight was the only redeeming factor on that card.

As much as I would not want to ruin Morales' career by taking on Juan, a fight between these two great mexican warriors would be too good to watch.
