Now that he has beaten JMM to close out the trilogy, time for Martinez

Bob Arum says a lot of things, and he has gone on record not only contradicting himself, but also admitting that he contradicts himself. If the economics are right in his eyes, then he'll change his position and try to make the fight happen at 154. And I think it should happen.

 

You might be right. But if he his truly in a bind, as you say, then his team could go either way on this. If Team Pac decides that Pac's rep is damaged and that a fight with Martinez at 154 is just what he needs to make amends with the fans, why not be for this?

 

You're delusional if you think Pacquaio will be fighting Martinez at 154. That's simply not going to happen. They won't be putting Pac in there with Mayweather in May either.

I dunno, Gonzarelli actually made the point that Pac is "in a bind" over this last fight. If that's the case, and Marquez refuses a 4th fight, then Pac could be compelled to choose between making a fight with a tough opponent or retiring. Personally, I'd prefer to see him take on Martinez at 154, especially since I'd like Martinez to get a chance at a big payday as well.

 

Again, Pacquiao will never fight Marinez at 154. That fight is not realistic. They're going offer Marquez a bunch of money and a 4th fight between Marquez and Pacquiao will probably happen in spring of 2012.

 

Does Marquez even want that? He could have been speaking from the emotion of the moment, but JMM, as much heart as he has, looked completely deflated because of a perceived injustice. Besides, how many people would even buy a 4th fight at this point? I could be mistaken, but by the way JMM fans talk about this possibility I'm not sure they'd want to put up the money a part 4.

 

I really hoped he would just retire. Pac and JMM just have to move on and accept that they their styles will always end in a controversial decision, unless a KO was delivered.

I'd like to see Mayweather-Martinez and nothing else concerning the 3.

 

Money talks. And even if Marquez does turn it down, no way would they put Pacquiao in there with Martinez at 154. If the Marquez rematch doesn't happen, look for Pacquiao to fight Tim Bradley.

 

Why would Pacquiao who has bent over backwards to avoide Mayweather fight the best middleweight in the world?
