You know, I've been saying this for too long to remember, but styles make fights.

Fans built Pacquiao up as someone who'd manage to improve hugely, at the age of 28, over a matter of months.

Talking like he'd obliterate Marquez in minutes.........

You know, but look at the facts - Marquez beat him up at 130. Then 3 years later, moved up multiple divisions, at the age of 38 (Pacquiao having every advantage conceivable) and did the same again.

There's a reason Manny wouldn't re-match Marquez immediately. And a reason he wanted to spend a number of years instead fighting more limited brawlers, who were much better matched to his skill set.

You know, Manny hasn't really fought that many elite technical guys in his career, and he's struggled with nearly all of them. And he's probably in truth, only in the position he's in now, as Bob Arum is his promoter, and Bob's quite good at turning a draw into a UD............!

Fan just need to get - styles make fights.

Mayweather is another level to these two guys, as he goes in with absolutely every style imaginable and completely dominates.

The thought of Manny getting in a ring with Mayweather at 147 is starting to look a bit stupid.

I agree with the thread stater. Marquez is the closes thing to a Mayweather that Pac has faced. Every other fighter that he's faced is tailor made for him. If Marquez gives him trouble Mayweather is going to give him hell.

Every fighter who has every stepped into the ring is overhyped. That's why boxing has promoters. That's what they do. It is up to the individual person to make up their mind.

Btw just because Marquez has a bogey style for Pacquiao, does not mean his achievements should be dismissed. He isn't perfect but he has improved beyond a doubt. The problem you're making is you've believed the hype that he was superman and when he shows one little flaw he becomes "exposed". It's the same idiocy people were on about when Mosley hit Mayweather and they said his defense was somehow exposed and overrated.

There was a brief moment (perhaps maybe just an hour) on ESB where people were actually discussing the third fight logically and breaking down what criteria they used to score the fight. But now it looks like we're back to this clockwork of nonsense.

Pacquiao has always been a limited fighter. There's a lie that he's the best fighter out there but Bob Arum knows the truth. This is the reason why getting him with Mayweather is unimaginable for Arum.Arum knows his cash cow will be greatly exposed by Mayweather.Who will make money for him after that?Margarito?
