Fights 1 & 3 of Ali and Frazier are no doubt the best; # 2 fizzled...

I got the first fight of '71 rolling right now.. An utterly electric fight...

Ali still had flashy fast hands that were accurate, but his legs seemed sluggish in this title challange to Frazier in 1971... Ali couldn't move liked he wanted or needed to in certain parts of the fight...

Frazier was indeed a pacman on this night... He keep the pressure on and was working his famous hook over-time...

Yes, we all know Frazier clipped and hurt Ali bad in round 11, and also dropped Ali's ass in round 15, but aside from that, it was Ali who truly piled up points with his fast combinations punching overall...

I tell you, had Ali not been dropped in the final round, I'd have been pissed if Ali didn't at least secure the draw... The knockdown sealed the deal for Frazier in my book...

Naw, Naw, Naw, Naw..... Frazier was a gargoyle in his appearance after 15 rds, while Ali had some swelling, but was more tired than beat up.... Frazier ate lotsa' Ali leather.... Plus, a tiring Ali initially sucked up some reserve in round 9 and cameback to lay some hurt on Frazier........ A close fight...... Frazier won, but he needed that knockdown to seal the deal....

Frazier was not a Pacman. Frazier was Frazier. I'd say Ali won maybe 6 rounds in FOTC at most. I scored it awhile back but can't remember. It was competitive, but Frazier took over toward the end. I enjoyed the second fight, despite the holding and reffing though. It fizzled in comparison, but still a decent fight.

Well, I do admit Frazier won in '71..... However, I also claim the fight was a close shave win for Frazier, too.... Had Frazier not scored the droppage of Ali, I felt a draw was due....

Henry Cooper would be a much different fighter under that ruleset.

All three of these two's fights were close, imho. The most one-sided was the second one, comparatively that is. Frazier deserved the verdict for the FOTC,as close as it was. Even without the knockdown.

Muhammad and Joe. Two warriors. Thanks guys.

I had it 9-6 Frazier. A lot of the rounds were close.

I think I had it 8-7 plus the KD, I had Ali sweeping most the early rounds he looked like he was looking for the KO really sitting harder on his punches than he often did, I think the plan was to KO Frazier. A closer fight than people make out

Again, yes, Frazier won the FOTC fight of '71, but I had Ali just a hair behind after 15 rds....

Ali won # 2 easy with scores of 8 to 4 over 12 rds.... IMO!

    # 3 goes without saying...

I don't hold it against joe that he lost the rematch with Ali...he was already a spent force by then...not even near the guy who won FOTC.
