Over the last few pages, Mr. Ears made the most sense. Gratulation.

Marquez is a borderline case. I don´t think he´d show up on any Top5 list of any division but is a Top5 of his generation IMO. He´s on the edge and I think he will end up falling on the right site of the fence.

Saturday´s fight was close and could have gone either way with better arguments for Marquez. This was no way a robbery though.

Don't forget: Polo (should have 3 wins over world champions), Medina (5 time champ) and Gainer (rangy slick southpaw) are top class wins, better than Katsidis/Salido, allot of people weren't following the FW division outside of Hamed/MAB, all were top top FWs, so were John/Norwood. Marquez gets no respect for cleaning out the FW top 10

Medina was a washed up old fighter when fought Marquez, brus.Yeah i know he beat Harrison around that time, but Harrison was..not good.

Gainer would have been good in theory-that was an interesting matchup at the time but Smoke disgraced himself in that fight imo.A performance of hakkar-esque proportions that ruined his career.

marquez should have a win over John though. Some nice homecooking in that one.

    LOL at sweetscientist scorecard.
I'm not suprised you scored for Pacquiao scientist.
Even in the proffessional ranks you still score the amatuer way.
Pacquiao threw alot of right hand jab guagers that barely found the mark. Ineffective shots that you value the same as a right hand shot by Marquez smack plum on the face.

I think if you score it the amatuer way and count Pacquiao's jabs (ineffective) but that just touch or even graze Marquez' head, then I guess you can stretch it and make a case for Pacquiao to have gotten a draw here.:nut

When Marquez landed, his shots were clear, concise, leveraged, and landed with authority.

As I've noted several times in the general forum. Pacquiao was reduced by Marquez to flailing away with arm punches he was so out of rhythm and balance.

......but hey, a touch and a tap the sweet pea way, those are scoring points is'nt it Scientist?:nut:nut:nut

Agreed Chris John and Norwood would be his 2 best FW opponents not named Pacquaio. I would have liked to have seen John with the other big names, I think his movement would cause problems for some

Medina was past his best but he kept pulling out decent performances against Tapia (heard he deserved the decision), Harrison, Polo and JMM did what he was supposed to and dominated him. Polo deserved the Harrison and Chacon fights, didn't see his Gainer fight but here he might have deserved that

I think Marquez did enough to beat Manny this weekend. It depends on how you define all time great. Marquez is good enough for the boxing hall of fame, but I don't view him as one of the best five fighters of his era.

WOW, you thought Pacquiao won 116-114? Last Saturday night was an example of boxing making sure their golden goose gets to lay more eggs. 8-4, 7-4-1, or 7-5 for Marquez seemed like a fair card.

Here we go, Marguez was landing haymaykers flush and Pac was landing grazing jabs.

Keep telling yourself that, and keep listening to the biased screams of the crowd and in the commentary for every time Marquez threw a punch :good

By the way, what happened to that other thread in here discussing scores in that fight? Why did it get moved to the troll forum?

I was looking forward to someone actually scoring a round by round rather than just screaming and shouting about how Marquez got robbed.

Are you British or American? The HBO commentary was very biased in Pacquaio's favour, I'd say the Brit was more impartial. I think it influenced allot of people's scoring, because nearly no British fans had Pac winning, where as quite a few American's did

I'm neither, I'm Aussie, but I got the British coverage with that peanut doing his nut every time Marquez threw a punch.

I haven't seen the HBO footage but I guess they were compubox-judging the fight and making it seem like Pac won it handily.

I'm not really swayed by commentary, I back myself to see things the way I see them.

I think he just tries to get other enthusiastic to compensate a tad for lack of knowledge  I genuinely don't think he was biased, for instance he gave Pac the first round, which I thought Marquez landed the better punches in. 1 thing that everyone ignored was JMM's bodypunching, which was pretty effective and for me scoring blows

Just what the boxing world needed, another Jim ****ing Lampley!

I thought Amir Khan did a good job commentating. He kept his objectivity.

Probably still bitter about what happened to Ricky Hatton when he met Pacquiao.
