Pacquiao is not only much greater than Marquez, but a much better fighter too.

The Hagler GIF's and SNV one demostrating his Russian Speed were always my favorites.

 

Marquez is a better technical boxer and proved Pacquaio is rather one dimensional against skilled fighters who have a brain.

 

People who dont understand boxing will continue to be fooled by these fighters because they havent watched boxing long enough and dont really understand how deteriorated boxing has become and how much the skillset has been fractured.

What we have with Manny is the opposite of whats going on the heavyweight division. A brawler with poor technical skills who got exposed by a fighter who is far past his best, lacking in size and power, but is technically proficient. Marquez didnt do anything special but use simple technique to offset all of Manny's strongest assets, speed and power, and once that was taken away he had nothing else to fall back on. It was as suprising to me because I felt just the difference in power and strength would be enough to allow Manny to run right through Marquez.

Manny has never been a complete fighter, just like the Klitschkos arent complete fighters up at heavyweight. Smart matchmaking or lack of competition will continue to create a false image for these fighters.

As much as people hate Floyd Mayweather he is the last young complete fighter who can make adjustments and fight in different styles. Now that Manny has been somewhat exposed I think its a wakeup call for everyone to really understand why Bob Arum has not pushed to make a fight with Mayweather.

The fact that Manny struggled so badly with a 38 year old blown up lightweight exposes more his lack of technical skills than any type of styles make fights scenario because of the mammoth advantage Manny has in speed strength and power, he should have been able to overcome Marquez.

Marquez ducked Pacquiao in 2009, He waited for Pacquaio to slown down, That's why he gave Pac another Boxing lesson.
