Carl Froch wants a Kessler or Bute fight if he wins the S6. In England, though.

Over at the Scene... in Froch's case, a homecoming defense is understandable. Losing to Ward is another story/situation.

Can Kessler sign for a S6 winner fight while preparing for Stieglitz?

Showtime will push hard for S6 winner (or loser?) vs Bute on Dec 17th after the fight is over, with Bute in attendance.

Regardless of what Ward/Froch say, Kessler isn't available until the summer anyway. And that's best case scenario.

Thoughts? Predictions on what we're looking at for 2012 in terms of top SMW matchups?

So, Ward vs. Bute in Oakland early 2012 - then Froch vs. Kessler II in the summer for the right to face the winner at the end of the year. :yep

I'd say Froch would have every right to demand the fight at home. Kessler would probably go for it.......not sure about Bute though.

As for the future smw bouts, I'd rather see Bute and Kessler square off for the right to fight the s6 winner. Not to punish either guy, but it sort of takes a little something away from having to go thru this whole tourney just to end up meeting either
    A) A guy you've already fought in Kessler.

    B) A guy who had a comparatively easier schedule hasn't fought his way thru the same guys you did.

    Just my thought.

Think he'd loose a close MD to Bute, and get KTFO by Kessler :S

I think Bute would beat Froch, and I'm thinking Froch takes the rematch with Kessler. Especially if its at home.

If he beats Ward, he's in a position to call the shots, without a doubt. Even though Bute has a good following, Froch will be the man at 168lbs and will have earned to right to stay in Britain until he loses. Considering he's fought all over the world in recent bouts, if he beats Ward and becomes the undisputed champion, it'll be time for him to sit back and let people come to him.

If he loses, I think he deserves a rematch with Kessler in Britain or a neutral venue too. No way should he go back to Denmark and I don't think he will either.

Froch fought Kessler in his own back yard already and Bute has been taking the easy road his whole career while Froch has paid his dues. Either way, it's only right Froch gets the fight at home.
