Floyd has fought fighters coming off impressive victories in his last 6 fights. pakman just lost his last fight. Does he need to fight a tuneup in early 2012 to look good again and become an acceptable opponent for Floyd?
Even with JMM ruining Pac's Godlike image, I don't think Arum is ready to cash in yet... Think he'll at least try one more fight before Mayweather to try and bring back the Pac is a Monster image. Better to sale Mayweather vs Pac when they both look invincible, and that matchup just ruined that... Kind of like Arum ruined it with Juan Manuel Lopez... Gotta bring back the hype first!
Bradley earned his shot next. Bradley looked good, Pac didn't. Bradley will probably make Pac look good and he didn't headbutt the **** out of Joel Casamayor, so it's probably a safe fight.
I predicted a couple months back that Pacquiao will fight Bradley (which could just as easily be Marquez IV given the circumstances this past weekend), while Mayweather fights somebody like Amir Khan or Saul Alvarez. I think they'll fight next November. And if not then, perhaps in May 2013. As time passes, it only favors Mayweather more. Both of their physical gifts will continue to erode, but only one has the well-schooled technical ability and fundamental defense to fall back on.
Biggest concern for Team Pac I believe. But he didn't headbutt Joel Casamayor so maybe they're willing to take the risk? Guess we'll see in the next month or so.
