The myth of Pacquiao vs Marquez III?

Yeah I wasn't meant to be patronising or anything. I said pop stop because it rhymed and I just genuinely thought it was a stupid opinion. No matter how people score the fight it has to be accepted that marquez has an argument for atleast drawing imo. Anyways you didn't write it and hence never expressed that opinion so my bad.

Here's as detailed as I could get on my phone

Jmm - mp

9-10: mp better work in a close round
10-9: jmm good combinations and defence
10-9: controlled round by jmm picking mp apart
9-10: mp moving much better and landing frequently
10-9: jmm much better defence and better clean shots being landed
9-10: brilliant round for mp landing good clean shots.
10-9: close but clear round as both fighters step it up a notch.
10-9: punch perfect timing for jmm showing great defence and timing.
9-10: close round with mp getting the slight nod based on clean shots and effective aggression.
10-9: mp tried nicking the round but left it too late
9-10: jmm takes foot off the gas and mp edges it on aggression
9-10: good final push by mp as he edges the final round.

 

I mean that's fine, but haven't you spent more time and text arguing that Calzaghe-Hopkins was a robbery than maybe anyone on the forum?

 

I thought H. Lederman was way off all night... and compubox was irrelevant.

I was giving those close rounds to JMM on CLEAN PUNCHING... Pac was coming forward but wasnt landing much more than glancing or partially blocked shots in the exchanges in most rounds.

Marquez landed 90% of the "quality" punches imo.

This wasn't a one off fight where someone is claiming robbery, it's an accumulation of 3 fights where the bad decisions have got worse that's why people are soo pissed off.

 

There have been some really stupid things said by fans of both fighters. Whether it's calling this one of the worst robberies ever, or taking away credit from Marquez by claiming Manny has regressed as a figher.

I've watched the fight several times now and I have it 115-113 for JMM. I could have it a round wider but I'd struggle to give Manny a draw (although scoring it even wouldn't necessarily constitute a bad score-card).

 

Marquez won. He controlled him and won his rounds more clearly. There's no sway or influence. If you think that's the case, then stop claiming the "Judges score blood" line for Lederman as idiotic if that's how simple-minded people are. I know I wasn't influenced by the crowd. I was influenced by the cleaner punches Marquez was landing, and the whiffs Manny had. There was no effective aggression. And Marquez was definitely the ring general showcasing more & better defense. Forget the sub-standards to scoring, what is chief in importance is clean, effective punches. Pac touched Marquez up, but Marquez landed the better, more head-snapping shots. If you think Pac won, then you're basically giving him virtually every swing round. Marquez won about 5 clear rounds, and Pac won about 2 clear rounds. The rest of the fight are swing rounds. The more and more I watch and review the fight, the more Marquez comes out looking better on my scorecard. Considering Pac WON the fight, it was a robbery. No doubt.

 

Shocking article. Granted, I'm just going off one viewing, but, I can't remember Pacquiao winning more than 5 rounds.

 

You could easily score the fight 118-110 for Marquez. Sure, you'd give Marquez all of the swing rounds, but guess what. For Pac to get a draw or win by 2 points, you have to give him all of the swing rounds too. Says quite a bit on who won more rounds clearly.
