compubox is just people pushing buttons, if you go to as many amateur bouts as i do then you know people pushing buttons certainly doesn't provide an accurate reading

The point is that the objective and sacred guides of CompuBox missed around 20 punches that Maidana landed on Khan when Khan wasn't even throwing anything back. Given the fact that these should be the easiest ones to count, blowing it that badly should give anyone reason to doubt the validity of the numbers in other more difficult cases.

I got that n he was completely right.....compubox was way off....but some of the punches Freddy counted I wouldn't have...

But either way Diaz landed a lot more than 5 punches at that point in the rd.

Yep, and it's LITERALLY just two guys sitting on one side of the ring, with ONE laptop. No team of scorers with multiple angles. No speed-entry device.
One guy on the laptop, entering stats for both fighters from ONE seat, meaning he can't even see half the punches thrown, and the other guy communicating to the boss via headset.

    That's it.

And we don't even know who these guys are. Just some dudes.

It's clear that HBO doesn't care about accuracy. It's just added fluff to make the broadcast seem more official. Nothing more. Seriously.

    ^ THIS IS Compubox.

Two guys sitting ringside with a laptop. They're human, like the rest of us and can see things as they please, subjectively. Compubox results mean NOTHING as regards telling us who won or lost a fight.

Compubox shows us one thing. It shows us what a ringside observer perceived was the amount of punches thrown and landed. So a judge realistically might have seen the same thing Compubox claims happened. They aren't just numbers that come out of nowhere. Even if they aren't 100% based on reality, they are based on a realistic perception. It's essentially a fourth judge that doesn't score.

Exactly, how the **** are people going to use these stats to back-up an argument when you have Cesc Fabregas and Jens Lehman keeping score
