    Any opinions on my timeline for this division?

    I know it's another less than glamarous division but I've been studying divisonal history lately to give me a better perception when reviewing the individual greats who graced each division.

    I'm not sure how disputed my take might be here but Nunn is a fair ommission imo, other than that I can't think of anyone? maybe woodhall?

    I think perhaps Bute instead of Froch, and I'm not sure Benn was ever better than Eubank

    I'm not sure bute warrants mention yet tbh, he didn't really break out until the rematch over andrade imo.

    from capturing the belt until the rematch I think benn beat better people in a better fashion, plus he edged eubank in the rematch imo.

    why froch ahead of kessler and Bute in 2008 and 2009? I don't think that is justified, yes he beat Pascal which is probably better than kessler's and Bute's wins that year but not enough to leap frog them in the rankings

    who did bute beat? id say froch is ahead of kessler til the kessler loss with a chance for him to take topspot back, bute is an also ran til he decides he wants to prove otherwise

    I think having froch above bute in 2008-09 is like having povetkin ahead of wlad in 2007-08 because he beat chambers and byrd which better than wlad's wins in those years

    bute and kessler did naff all. Froch beat pascal and taylor. best smw until he lost to dirrell at which point kessler was recognised as the best.

    bute doesn't come into until knocking out andrade.

    Brewster, Ibragimov & Thompson are the best victories that time frame.

    Not to mention Wlad had established dominance over the division with a crushing victory over Byrd.

    But did what in 07-08?

    froch wasn't considered by many to be the number 1 smw 08-09, i dont think wins over pascal and taylor mean froch deserves to overtake kessler.
    kessler proved he was better when they did meet.
    why does kessler have to beat froch to rank higher, but froch doesnt have to beat kessler to rank higher.
    I will concede however that perhaps you are right to have bute below froch in 08-09, although i think bute would beat froch

    The division was in a state of nothingness when joe retired.

    Carl beat the better opponents during this timeframe.

    Carl lost his place in my books when dirrell beat him.

    I had carl beating mikel but not as clear as ward had done. I think it's clear atm ward is top dog.

    This Bute argument is nonsense.

    One thing I might point out is that for the period where you have Kessler at the top (from Froch-Dirrell to Kessler-Ward), am I right in thinking Kessler doesn't even have one fight??

    To me that doesn't seem quite right LUFC. Great stuff again though!!

    Liles was probably the best after Jones move up. Him or Collins

    Nunn has a case to be no1 92-93 as does Eubank

    Calzaghe had some absolutely terrible unforgivable years prior to the Lacy fight, he used to be a running joke, premier SMW in some of those years maybe a stretch, especially 04-05
