Close fights are never robberies!

The fight wasn't as close as people think.

Sure, it wasn't apparent that Marquez hurt Pac, but post fight when Pac was asked if he was hurt, he reluctantly admiited to being hurt several times in the fight.

I found that the hardest part of scoring this fight was to actually give rounds to Pacman. Until I went back and rewatched the fight, my scorecard had almost every round to Marquez. I actually had to dig deep to find reasons to give Pac rounds. If the fight were close, that shouldn't be the case.

 

I didnt score it. I just saw Marquez win. I'm going to try and score it when they replay it and see what I get. Maybe I'll be surprised and score it for Pac. I'm a fan of both fighters.

 

Certainly, there can be a robbery in a close fight. It was close but "clear" win for Marquez no matter how you look at it.

 

Unbiased eyes can see that that fight wasn't close. I have a feeling that this will be one of those fights where the decision looks even worse when reviewing and analyzing the fight video.

I'm a Pacman fan and...it was NOT even close. Marquez got robbed.

Agreed. NOt at all a robbery, could have gone either, I Had it for Marquez by a round or two but have no issues with manny winning it the same...

 

you have to call each round by themselves, so you cant say that boxer X have 6 clear rounds, Y boxer have 6 close round, so boxer X win. The rules there is a draw 6 rounds for each.

 

Guzman vs Funeka I was a real robbery, loaded with crystal clear rounds for Funeka.

Pacquiao vs Marquez once again had many very close rounds and it all depends on what you'll give more credit to...

With any lackluster performances like Saturday, a guy like Manny will always be judged harshly, considering his status and the fact he should have annihilated Marquez.

The heavy underdog being so unexpectedly competitive changed the way the vast majority of people perceived that fight.

I too don't like the way robberies have been redefined in these modern days....

 

The best example for me is the first Pascal vs Hopkins fight. When Hopkins say he won a 115-113 decision, a 114-114 draw is not a robbery and yet after the fight, a lot of boxing "fans" were screaming robbery...

 

The fight shouldve been a Draw.

JMM looked good in the mid round and barely had the edge in those tense exchanges, but Pac finishished strong.

when a challenger fights the world champion, traditionally, the challenger really has to BEAT the champion convincingly.

JMM and Nacho exagerrate when they say robbery, cause it was close, and should have used common sense to know, that Pac vs. Floyd is supposedly scheduled for sometime next year, and that means that JMM needed to beat Pac in a very convincing manner, cause if its close, it makes common and business sense ($200 Million dollars, sense) that the judges give it to Pac, so that Pac vs Floyd can happen next.
